RANK 7 Explore - UES Fukushima
I swear when I first opened this there was a clue to where it might be located. After a brief pause in playing I return and now can't workout where to start looking. There is nothing in the PDA Info/Logs or system map marker indicators? Am i missing something?

There should be some coordinates in your logs somewhere if I remember

Thanks. The logs had no displayed info. I know I recalled seeing it display on rank completion. Anyhow I searched the PDA.CSV and found it. Cheers.

I know this is old but I am having the same problem. I have finished medical, exploration and engineering to the point they have all gone to the Fukushima mission, but none tells me where to go. What is the PDA.CSV you searched and how do I find it? Is it in game or in the files somewhere?

Hi, yes a bit of nuisance so a slight "cheat" was in order. Go to game files on your system at...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion-Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\[your game name]\PDA

open the file PDA.csv (i used MS Excel)...search for Fuku....find relevant string which is:
"We have received a distress call from the UES Fukushima. It appears that the signal originated from a nearby G-type star called Koronashi Beta. " Cheers

Thank you so much, I can finally move on with the story now.

Your welcome.

So, funny thing, after looking at the PDA file, suddenly my star salvage saves, including two backups and the save I was playing on are no longer showing up in game, the only save showing up is a creative save. They are still in the save folder for Empyrion and I didn't change anything other then looking at the PDA.

Are the files still showing in the /Saves/Games folder?

Yes, I tried verifying the game files already. I am not sure if unsubscribing and then subscribing to star salvage might fix it, although it might break the saves entirely. I also wonder if removing the save files from the save folder and putting them back in again might fix it.

I think verify just validates the steam install files not saves. Nothing should have changed by just looking at the pda file in the specific game folder. Try creating a new survival game (with a different easy to recognise name) , save it and see if it appears in the save folder along with the rest...if it doesn't the game is looking at a different location (for whatever reason?).

I created a new normal game and a new star salvage game, they both show up in the save file alongside the original game and the two backups, but the original game and the two backups still don't appear on the load screen in game. I'm going to look at the PDA file for the new star salvage save I created and see what happens.

Edit: Just tried looking at the PDA for the new star salvage save and that is still showing up, so something else must have changed.

Is it possible the file extension changed such that the egs game can't recognise the file type?
westrud 19 Jun, 2023 @ 4:36pm
The PDA file still contains one excel file and one yaml file, which is what the new saves contain. I would think it would still show up in the menu but refuse to open if a file inside the save had changed extension but I am not sure.

Did you recently change your player name?
