Balance Feedback Discussion Thread
Hello!

Balance is a holistic thing and every time we tweak something to make it better, it can cause ramifications on other stuff. At the moment, we got a good balance where Astartes are versatile, Orks field a lot of units, and Eldars deal a lot of damage, but the interplay between those sometimes goes weird due to various reasons (including the vanilla game's starting balance).

As such, I'm creating this thread to facilitate feedback. The patches come quick for this mod, so having an area to flag any potential issues or misbehaving things will help me dial in problems now that we have thousands of people playing the mod.

If a unit or faction is not behaving like they should or don't play as they should according to lore, let me know below and I'll look into what's going on and fix it 😉

I think the Ork vehicles need a slight HP or DMG boost since they barely compare with any Eldar or SM vehicle and their price points barely do much for them in long runs. I say the DeffDread deserves love especially. But do what you will with the rebalances in the future! I really this mod and Vanilla gameplay too.

There are two solutions for that, I can either lower the price of the Ork vehicles or buff them a bit -- I personally prefer the "cheap and loose" approach with the Orks as that's what they are in the lore, but let me know your thoughts!

Hello. Dreadnought's melee damage seems to be strong. They crash other faction's mech easily.

They're meant to be stronger than the base game, but will look into it 🙂

Love this update! I managed to still struggle against Dreads and Terminators as Orks but that's because Space marines are dangerous when they get enough time to bring their heavier units! The greenies have more control over their early and late games than before! The Orks are not OP now they're just less stressful to play as.

My only issue with this update is the Storm boyz needing a massive price decrease so there can be more fun ways to play the Orks! Everything else has been great by far. Can't forget those jump rocket boiz.

I've tested the Orks with both factions 1v1 and 3v3. Orks require attention when left unchecked because as my gameplay with space marines I had to use what was available early game in order to push em back.. The Orks kept coming and they didn't give up unlike the old version of the mod! Orks are fun to play and fight against! I have been getting 50/50 matches so far! Orks just need their Storm Boyz price fixed-

I would enjoy dive bombing a crap ton of them when I get the chance to lol.
Many Ork players will thank you for those who wanna fly just as much as Assault marine users do!

I tested Eldar vs Space Marines but since I only use Orks I would suggest feed back against Eldar vs SM mainly that should come with the Storm Boy price decrease. Eldar mains will need to be asked for this kind of thing. All I know is should Reapers get heavy armor shields if possible? I want fair game with Eldar and I am still playing that Race to ensure balance.

This will be my last message for balances besides the Storm Boyz. Everything else will go to other faction mains. I thank you very much for making this game fun for me again though! May the perfect update keep this game alive for much to come!

Thank you. I would like to, but that is unfortunately not doable -- there is no clean way to add new races to the game using the current tools.

The mod seems pretty good after the latest update. Just the few units I have been testing with elites turned on. The regular dreadnought and Terminators are buffed far too much (Mostly dps but I think the HP of the nought can be tuned to be more in line with the elite variant since everyone is struggling to kill them due to 8000 compared to the 5000 elite. I feel that for the dread's power should be more punished if used carelessly.) A single one of these 2 units can army wipe in a second with no worry of losing these units against entire armies taking 5 minutes just to kill one only for 6 more to show up after finally killing either the nought or the Terms.

Da Kommando and Storm boyz are under performing in different places. (Kommando may need Anti armour melee with a small ranged buff. (His shoota is not doing good crowd control even against normal armoured boyz as he took out barely any with both shots.) Storm boyz needing heavy armour so they can be used better on the battlefield. Along with the Ork Hard Ai seems to act more aggressive when getting attacked and THEN making their better units. Unsure what makes them passive and hasn't been any maps that caused it. They still make more than you think just not enough as probably intended mostly lacking tech and better units without only making them being attacked. (I mean Da Kommando is good at disappearing without doing anything that he's on the floor zogged.. :Boyz:)

This was my feedback so far. After a long slumber I have arrived to show my love for this mod.
I hope to help remind about the few units that need to shine since I have been just maining Da Kommando on Vanilla recently so hope he gets love in the next possible update. :WH3_nurgling:

Thank you very much for the detailed and very informative feedback above -- I've released a new patch now with some changes based on your suggestions + that of others in the comments, should help make Terminators and Dreads less unstoppable (and the buffs to Kommando and Storm Boyz should make Orkz more versatile and make you happy 😜)

It will probably be the last update as I am no longer actively playing this game, but if there are more targeted and sensible feedback like the one above, I'll try to find the time here and there to implement them. Thank you to all who downloaded the mod and enjoy it.

Btw um.. Did the Storm Boys get any love? I never had the chance to make any worth my while since the Dread rush. And especially the Nob DPs is so poor with the Hero Hp and DPS too. (I wanted a more cheaper assault marine type.)

My idea before LEAVING support for the MOD is to add 3 more models to Storm boyz with a MORE MAJOR PRICE DECREASE and need only 1 WAAAGH tier and giving a 100+ dps and HP buff to most ORK heroes. Mayble 2000+ more HP and 50+ more true dps added for the WARBOSS. and a tweak to the training time of the Space marines. And buff the normal Nobs Damage bit a large amount? Especially DPS for the Ork Tank unit (The ones that deploy). Ork Players need options too. Maybe add slightly more cost to the Warboss for his buff.
This is my final offer for a Final update when possible. I would make my own mod but can't due to bugs and errors.
