Within that minute, you have to confirm that it isn't just your teammate, but ensure that they aren't an enemy and return fire if fired upon.
If there was a proper way to identify your teammate without communicating over the radio and letting others know where and what you are doing, then that minute would be possible every time.

Counterpoint: get friends and don't go solo. Obviously a team of two can overpower a solo person, so then you get a team of two.
