Idea For How The Apocalypse Spell Could Work
The apocalypse spell could be a special project which, upon completion will give you 2 options on how you could end the world. In both of these scenarios the person who casted the spell could (depending on their personality) feel extreme guilt and gain hundreds of stress or if they are sadistic or a demon they could laugh at the end of the world and take joy in all of the people they hurt or take pride in the fact that they are so powerful that they ended the world causing them to lose a lot of stress. (Both of the options’ names are not meant to be literal.)

Option 1: “Release The Pestilence”

It releases an apocalyptic plague that never stops and fully infects every county in the world with some new disease that’s even worse than the black death and is incurable even with the healing spell or Samael and makes it impossible to collect any power saturation while infected meaning that every immortal character that gets infected will be unable to use magic ever again. Picking this option also gives a permanent modifier that makes you immune which could result in you being the only person in the world that is able to use magic and could give an incentive to every mage that knows about it to make it first because if they don’t make it first then somebody else will and if it’s going to get made no matter what then they should make it so that they are the only ones immune to it (Similar to Roko’s Basilisk.). And you could have an option to make it illegal if you are the speaker at a mage summit which means that any mage caught trying to do it will be attacked from all sides but will also give every mage that attended the summit the option to do it as they now know about it and depending on their personality they are more or less likely to do it with more paranoid characters being more likely to do it.

Option 2: “Open The Gates Of Hell”

It kills 95% of the characters in the game and drops the development of every county anywhere from 10 development to 50 development and leaves a modifier on every county similar to magical radiation but worse in every way and every character in a county with this modifier has a risk of having severe health issues. Along with this it creates several apocalyptic plagues in different parts of the world, these plagues are more likely to spawn in areas that suffered through less damage from the initial “bombardment”. It will also result in hundreds of a new kind of demon that is similar to moloch being summoned and going to the courts of every ruler and attacking them, just like the plagues the demons are more likely to spawn in areas with more people i.e areas that have a higher development and more people who survived the initial “bombardment”. Every ruler will have a chance of one of these demons coming to their court and massacring the people there and engulfing the court in a fire storm which brings down development and severely wounding the few people who survived. The person who casted the spell also has a chance of one of these demons coming to their court and they will have different options to fight back/protect themselves using both magical and non magical methods. The demons would stay long after the spell was casted and continue wandering the earth and causing problems and some would even rise into positions of power where they could kill more people and do more harm.

Cool ;) I like the direction of your thinking, because it could be a way to realize a particular fantasy and at the same time some further goal to achieve. Technically it would probably be achievable, except that after killing 95% of the characters it would disrupt performance for a moment, and the game would immediately generate new ones to replace the old ones (I once wrote a script for a test that kills everyone in the world ;p). And well, I don't know if making a plague worse than the Black Death would be easy.
In any case, it would cost a lot of time and work to implement your ideas, so I'll keep this in mind for the future as a potential inspiration, maybe someday I can make some part of it a reality.
The idea of cutting off everyone except your character from magic seems particularly interesting to me. I used to think of something like that, maybe it's worth adding something similar as a special project (unlocked when you defeat Al-Hazred, for example).
Opening hell is also interesting - both from the perspective of accomplishing it and trying to stop it. I think it would be nice to have another crisis/challenge for the player in the late game, although I was thinking of something else, but that has potential too.
