Special Projects (spoiler alert)
I wondered if I should write something more about special projects in the last DD, but there was a lot of text there anyway, besides it's spoilers. But in fact, the question of projects is not very intuitive and in the game I did not find a place to describe it well.

A random special project can be unlocked when you come across an event that unlocks it (although there are exceptions - for instance the Eternal Life project is automatically unlocked if you are a legendary mage).

That is, whenever a project unlocking event occurs, that project is drawn at random from a list of available and not yet developed projects. Available projects are those whose conditions for unlocking you meet. If you do not meet the requirements of any project, then no project will be unlocked (even when writing an elaboration, where the chance of unlocking is theoretically 100%).
Most often, a project is unlocked right after conducting magical research - the type of this research has no relation to the project you unlock.

Hey, ryciebani666! Is there a special requirement to unlock soul transfer? I played 3 different characters and unlocked every other special project but not this one :(

Well, besides the fact that you must be a legendary mage, there is indeed one requirement that I did not mention. You must have a soul ;p
That is, you couldn't sell/trade it to any demon, or relinquish it in any way (for example, during a power-gaining ritual).

So I have a fully operational Singularity (as far as I know its operational), but no option to upgrade. Don't have option for flying castle as far as I can tell either.

And no new project is unlocked after writing the magic elaborate?
A fully functioning AC is when you have access to the 'Use Ancient Singularity' interaction.

Is the Magic Elaborate to do with the flying castle? I dont think Ive seen anything about that. is it off of another decision. As for Use Ancient Singularity, I did do something like that, studying it and stuff, and I did get a bonus of some kind at the end, but there is no further decisions regarding it anymore.

OK, I think I see where that is. I'm working on it now. Is floating castle in the same kind of area? magic Research?

Yeah, flying castle is a special project which you may unlock and next deveop during Magic Research ;)
Well, it seems that the special projects system is not as intuitive as I expected.

It's possibly me just not thinking clearly enough. I think it's great that there are so many things you can do in such a (compared to a total conversion mod) small mod. But it does make it easy to miss stuff. The long cool down for magic research makes it more so. I have a habit of being easily distracted and will play this for a while, then switch to a different game altogether. I often only come back when I see an update, and then I start a new game to make sure I don't miss anything in the update. Means I often don't explore all options before restarting.

I also don't make it easy for players to experience every possibility every time. I like the vision that a player can play again and see something new the second or third time.

I can't see any of the special projects I unlock. I thought it may be other mods interfering, but I tried a new run with only this mod and I still don't see the one I unlocked. Is it suppose to be a decision, activity, other? As far as I can tell, everything else that the mod does work (with and without other mods).

You must use the decision Conduct Magical Research, which starts events chain. One of the first events will allow you to choose the type of research - when you choose special projects, those available will show up in the next event.

Thanks, I always missed it. Often I could not conduct magical research more than once per ruler.

How long is the cooldown for Magical Research?

Default 40 years, can be reduced to 10 if you collect all the bonuses associated with it.

also ultimate spell can be used to short cut it.
