My first thought was: "nice wall of text," but I got through. The idea is cool :) Bold and epic.
If a professional DLC were to be created for this mod, this is probably what it would look like, with special rivalry mechanics of the Sleeping God and Leviathan sides, and a mass of new interactions, events, encounters and fights. Though personally, I'd probably do a few things differently.
But in this form it's too much work for one person anyway ;)
Sleeping under the ocean god has potential for many stories, including a "crisis" as you described. However, I have such a problem with gods that I'm a bit lacking in tools to portray them well, so I don't know if I'll ever undertake it. Admittedly, I can try to show them indirectly, as an indefinable power or avatar, that seems like a good direction to me.
The idea of a demigod is quite funny ;) Especially this feature: each of your descendants becomes a chosen one :D I understand what you mean and it makes sense ;) It's just that currently the chosen one plays the role of such an OP trait, as if I introduced a demigod, then.... it would be difficult to keep the balance and prepare an adequate challenge ;) Currently, playing with a chosen one is similar to playing with cheating ;p
But who knows, maybe someday. Perhaps indeed the Sleeping God should play some bigger role in the story.
Recently I've been considering the place of demigods in the game world. Apart from your idea, I was thinking that these could be beings that for some reason only have one of the divine powers: True Creation or True Destruction. Although I don't have the tools to show these powers properly, especially if they were to be in the hands of players ;)
However, I sometimes wonder how a being more powerful than the chosen one should look and act.
For various reasons I couldn't use your idea, but it gave me some inspiration, thank you ;)
