Vanilla Psycasts Expanded

Improved Skipgates: Walk through them, psionic frequency, ect.
So, I have some ideas for improvments to Skipgates. Some of these ideas are probally impossible/ nearly impossible (I'll put my ideas for how to do it, but it probally won't work). But, one can dream.

So, here goes:
  • Psionic Frequency: Every pawn has an inate "psionic frequency". Skipgates cast by individual pawns are seperate, unless a special psycast is used by one of the skip-masters on the other. That will alow their frequencies to "match" (And them to "share the load", meaning if one caster casts 10, suddenly each will be supporting 5). This allows you to make many more skipgates. You could also make it so casters just have to cast a skipgate on the same spot, with the idea that you would just come out at 1, then instantly pop through and go through the next. Might be easier that way
  • Walk-able Skipgates: Pawns can walk through skipgates and come out of another, pathing though them like doors
    • I know this is hard, and you have said it can't feasibly be done. But, I think I thought of a way to do it. Form around each skipgate a virtural "room". When a pawn needs to path through it, they walk to that room instead of the skip-gate, and use the skip-gate as a door. Basicly, make it work as a door, just walking through it moves them longer distances
  • New Skipgates: Since skipgates can now be pathed through by anyone, some new ones for security!
    • Blockable Skipgates: So, with "walkable skipgates", enemies can just walk through your skipgates. Not good. So, this new, more expensive skipgate, only lets allies through. So, have one of these outdoors, and regular ones indoors. Now, your pawns can get inside, but others can't! Did I mention it uses alot more psyfocus? Did I?
    • Togolable Skipgates, similar to the one above, can be "locked"
    • Paired Skipgates- 2 skipgates that are linked together, seperate from the rest. Anyone can use
    • Caster Skipgates- only people of the same psionic frequency can use

Unfortunately that's not how pathfinding in RimWorld works. It actually does not consider rooms at all while pathfinding, and simply considers doors as normal cells with some extra delay for opening it.

Personally this feels rather overcomplicated.

shame. If I think of another conceptualwork-around, I'll put it here.

Fair enough. Perhaps a version of skipgate that doesn't let "people with hostile intentions" through? (Only allies). Or something else? Just some way to block enemies... if I come up with a new concept, well, I'll be back!
