@entropy008 you can use "Set Up Camp" to create a tiny, raid-less map-tile next door to another settlement, and then install the skipdoor there?

Are you saying they can do this or asking if they can cause the question mark has thrown me off and if it is possible to do so then i am definitely using rimnauts to make a space base with a skip door to insta-move between the 2

It's definitely possible to do that. I had a network of several of them in my last playthrough. Also of note, while they can only be *placed* on a "settled" tile, you can *use* them from the world map. If a caravan is on the same tile as the settlement with the portal, you can right click the settlement and then select any of your other portals to instantly teleport your caravan to the other location. As far as I've seen, that's the only way to get animals to take the portal.
