Moderation - Mod option ideas
This mod is one of my favorites for Rimworld, and I find self moderation is required to balance out its very powerful abilities.

These are not suggestions to change anything currently in the mod, but add more interesting options to create your own balance.

I don’t think all of these ideas need to be added, but I’m posting many in case anyone finds some useful.

Psychic Load
This is not a mod option but a new stat that the following mod options will check. This is the combined psycaster levels of all current psycasters in the colony. Does not include prisoners, guests or raiders.

The rest are mod options that can be turned on or off and adjusted.

Psychic Overload
All colonists gain a negative mood effect if the colony‘s psychic load reaches a [threshold]. This threshold can be set in the mod options.

The effect is modified by each colonist‘s psychic sensitivity and is constant unless the colony‘s psychic load is lowered below the threshold… somehow.

Extreme Psychic Overload..ect
This effect can progressively get worse. Each new threshold can be set in the mod options.

Psycast Magnet
This increases the frequency of raids containing psycasters by [X]% modified by the colony‘s psychic load above a certain [threshold]. This threshold and X can be set in the mod options.

Anomaly Magnet
requires Anomaly DLC.

Increase the frequency of minor Anomaly threats by [X]% per the colony‘s psychic load above a [threshold]. This threshold and X can be set in the mod options.

Increase the frequency of major Anomaly threats by [Y]% per colony‘s psychic load above a [threshold]. This threshold and Y can be set in the mod options.

Anima Tree
Each anima tree on the map with 20 grass decreases the colony‘s psychic load by [X]. X can be set in the mod options.

Anima Linking Ritual
Performing the Anima Linking ritual decreases the colony‘s psychic load by [X] for [Y] days. X and Y is determined by participants' psychic sensitivity.

With the following sections below, you could easily self-moderate using these rules. However it would be pretty dope to have them as mod options.

Major Psycaster Path
This is a psycaster path with no limit on the number of psycast abilities that can be unlocked (like normal).

A limit to the number of unlocked major psycaster paths per psycaster can be set in the mod options. All paths unlocked before this limit is reached are considered major psycaster paths.

Minor Psycaster Path
This is a psycaster path with a limit on the number of psycast abilities that can be unlocked. This limit can be set in the mod options.

All paths unlocked after the major psycaster path limit is reached are considered minor psycaster paths.

A limit to the number of unlocked minor psycaster paths each colony psycaster can have can be set in the mod options.
