I have done some testing with it. The pawn will still take all the wounds but they wont die, even if they are bleeding and missing all limbs, even the head. As long as the time does not pass you can still heal them, if their wounds would kill them when the power ends, they die.

TLDR: They are wounded as normal, just wont die.
