Hey, I want your opinion on future features.

  • If a city is connected to the sea by a canal, should it become coastal ?
(I want to clarify one thing for now in the mod turn a non-coastal city into a coastal one, just by building a canal on a square adjacent to the city.

For the system of turning the city into a coastal city if it is connected to the sea or to another coastal city, I want to mention that it will be very performance intensive (I don't think you're going to lag or anything, but I will having to each time a canal is built, check the full canal path and also having to disallow intersections.))
  • If a canal is built on a hill, should it remove the hill ? (It's either he takes the hill off or you can't build him on a hill.)
  • Provide fresh water to adjacent farms?

1) Yes
2) No (can't build canals on hills)

Hi and thank you for your reply

I want to clarify one thing for now in the mod to turn a non-coastal city into a coastal one, just build a canal on a square adjacent to the city.

For the system of turning the city into a coastal city if it is connected to the sea or to another coastal city, I want to mention that it will be very performance intensive (I don't think you're going to lag or anything, but I will having to each time a canal is built, check the full canal path and also having to disallow intersections.)

Excuse me for specifying this now, but this idea came to me during development and matured over time.

I think it's okay to have it coastal even if it's not connected to the sea so you can deploy navel ships, I like to use some of them to bombard land enemies a lot more than really anything else - at least I assume if the city isn't coastal you wouldn't be-able to spawn a ship.

As for the hills I think it's fine to not allow it on a hill, it sorta would help balance it a bit because having water tiles can be pretty beneficial to the city

Hey, thanks for your answer, I was really worried that the mod wouldn't be balanced with the rest of the game, that it would be too op, but from what you say the mod is good as it is, so It reassures me.

Hello, could you make the mod allow you to build canals in the territory of city-states? I would improve it and make it more historically correct
