What if merfolk could swim in mid-air with the addition of wings?

Could be only in rain, could be with it's own downsides- like halved flight time, doubled suffocation rate, maybe all three? There are flying fish in-game, could be a neat reference and would make the class pretty interesting when you do get wings.

A stronger sense of progression and meaning to choosing your class- kind of like unlocks via equipment or other kinds of items would make the choice feel more relevant across the whole of the game in my opinion!

What other items could be thought of for their respective races? This probably won't go anywhere but it's still fun to imagine.
