RULES DISCUSSION
Like I stated in the description, these rules are meant to provide you with difficult and interesting decisions when it comes to your army composition for each and every one of your generals.

Daemons have less units than Mortals, so I took a few executive decisions regarding costs and category; the base rule was to have at least 3 Core units for Daemon armies, where Mortals have more than a few. This is compensated at higher category levels by lowering the costs of elite Daemon units. I also increased the costs of a few select mortals (mostly the Chosen) to disincentivize their use, though none of them are prohibitive. Fielding mortals will be a regular occurrence, but the idea is that you will mostly see them as support units, not as your base.

Overall, Mortals can get elite Daemon units but at higher costs. The intention is the same as above: disincentivize use of elite Daemon units to privilege elite Mortals. This only means that you will have to think very well about which Daemon Rare unit you want to field in your army - they will be your specialists, the ace in the sleeve, so to speak.

An important note for Mortals and the Path to Glory: since the structure of the army is defined by the faction you choose, your Daemon Prince from any Warriors of Chaos faction will *still* have mortal rules applied to them. I considered shifting the rules around for Daemon Princes, but since that tends to happen mid-to-late game, it would probably break all sorts of things with the army compositions available to them, which is why I settled on treating them as (ex-)Mortals.

Here are the rules I settled on for each army. By "Daemons" you should understand all Daemon generals, including Daniel, and by "Mortals", all Mortal generals, both Legendary and otherwise, including Daemon Princes from Warriors of Chaos factions. A parenthesis with a number indicates a change in cost.
