Faction Changes Rollup
FACTION CHANGES:

EMPIRE (Karl Franz)

The entire Imperial Authority is discarded if randomized placement is set and the randomized placement option is not set to "Special-1" or "Special-2". No setting Elector Counts etc... that interface will do nothing. All Diplomacy and Confederation options available right from the start. No initial full blown wars to deal with or broken chaotic events due to random placement. To compensate for removal of the Imperial Authority system, you'll automatically unlock each elector count troop and respective runefang if you had owned the province every 5 turns until you get everything by turn 65. Franz can still perform all of his Emperor's Degrees without much issue (you can confederate via this method or by diplomacy). You will also automatically receive 45 prestige (from fealty) per turn to use. You will also get max Imperial Authority benefits in any Empire region you have ownership over. "Summon the Elector Counts" probably won't operate correctly via random starts.

EMPIRE (Elspeth von Draken)

Elspeth will get schematics via the Forges building tree instead of just the Nuln Gunnery School. This will help compensate on random starts where she likely won't have Nuln, although if don't perform random start, you will get these benefits anyway (this cannot be switched off).

HIGH ELVES

Alarielle has some trouble because of defense of Ulthuan mechanic and random placements, she receives several buffs to help compensate for this. Also as Alarielle you'll automatically be able to recruit treekin through standard buildings.

CATHAY

If randomized placement is set and the randomized placement option is not set to "Special-2" then the Bastion mechanic is effectively disabled. Caravans are "hard coded" in the Total War DB and so not very adapatable to random placements so the route will be same regardless where you are located. The mechanic still works fine though but you may have more difficulty or less depending on which factions get placed in your routes.

WARRIORS OF CHAOS

By default you'll be placed anywhere that has a Dark Fortress on the map, this means randomization for WoC is a bit more limited. Also Norsca vassals you typically would have a start of the game will no longer be the case if randomized placements are enabled. This placement behavior can be overrided in MCT (but not vassals).

CHAOS DWARFS

An argument can be made that the Chaos Dwarfs are particularly reliant on their landmarks early on in the campaign. If randomized placement is enabled then your automatically awarded 100 raw material and 10 armaments per turn and +10% gain to raw material and armaments factionwide. Please note the caravans also have the same behavior as Cathay, they'll start in the vanilla position always.

KISLEV

Kislev's tech tree in ver 6.1 no longer requires ownership of their cities when means we no longer need to give any special 'gifts' to help with randomized placement. This is a great change!

Unfortunately the later half of the tech tree for Kislev relies of them holding their main cities Kislev, Praag and Erengrad. As far as I know it's not particularly easy to remove this requirement without causing a lot of "collateral damage" with other mods. Since randomized placement could make this a difficult prospect in getting those techs.. Kislev is automatically awarded a number of buffs (not everything) they would typically get from researching those techs at the start of the game. However, they won't have the same potency if the tech had been researched so there is still some incentive to get these cities back if you wish. If the technology is also researched because you have one or all of the cities.. then the effects will stack, way to go!

DARK ELVES

If selected for random placement and your faction starts with a Black Ark then you will keep your Black Ark but it will not move with you and will stay in place during random placements. It's up to you whether to dispose of it or move it close to your new position.

CLAN SKRYRE

Workshop upgrades should now work despite not owning Skavenblight due to random placement.

CROOKED MOON

+5% ward save on all forces. This is to compensate if even farther from Karak Eight Peaks. Of course you could win the lottery and be even closer.

CLAN ANGRUND

-10% upkeep across the board, same reasoning for Karak Eight Peaks quest.

WOOD ELVES

Wood elves factions only get randomly placed with each other. The reason for this is that they can only recruit their quality units in magical forests and being placed anywhere else can cause serious recruitment issues. This can be overridden in MCT.
