So far this is fun to play around with do you plan on adding more randomized planet colors and planet diversity in star systems using vanilla assets? like desert planets having red sand, ice planets spawning on the edge of calm star systems, jungles appearing close to the center of temperate stars/edge of fiery stars ect. Just curious is all and im mostly asking this like a question.

@Somecraft thanks for your interest!
As for more variety of planet colors there's a mod that does that, it's called
Radiant Worlds that does exactly that, you should check it out!

Regarding hot and cold planets spawning relatively to distance inside the star system, I had this idea too but I have to see if it's doable without making too many changes.
Particularly I would not want to change the tier system progression. Gotta study celestial.config a little bit to see...

Truespace does that but it changes quite a lot in star systems generation like planes can have other planets types around the as satellites instead of only moons, it uses the spectral class[en.m.wikipedia.org] name used in Astronomy ("Class O", "Class M" and so on) instead of calling them "fiery stars, "frozen stars" and so on.

Love this mod, but as someone who prefers the "less crowded" vanilla systems - would it be possible to release a "lite" version with only changes to planet size, dungeon/region counts, keeping vanilla orbitals and microdungeon rates intact?

sure do!
Check here after the weekend!
Would it be possible to add a variant of this mod that doesn't alter planet sizes? I find that the enlarged planets (especially Huge) become too much of a chore when exploring the surface.

As well, it seems some modded dungeons base their size on planet width, so they wind up malformed in ways, such as having much of their underground corridors wind up above the ground.

@Zauberin Stardreamer Sure no big deal! I just have to tweak the values of the number of dungeons a bit to adapt to the vanilla planet size to have more dungeons but not to have the place too much crowded!

I really like the look of this mod.
Is it possible to 1) have gas giants always larger than their satellites orbiting them. (This is an issue I've noticed with every single planet enlarging mod)
2) to have the size of gas giants in the background/parallax of ship in orbit to vary depending on how close you are to it? Ex: gas giant appears much larger when you orbit its closest moon, vs its furtherst.
3) to have gas giants vary in size in general for both features mentioned above?

for 1) unfortunately it seems it's hardcoded in starbound, I tried fiddling with it but I had no success, not sure though if it's actually doable and if some other modder could actually do it (it was more of a trial and error as many things in starbound modding are undocumented or just scattered around discussion forums)
2) this is hardcoded too I think, sorry, only thing I noticed if you orbit around a gas giant you see the other satellites changing place in the backdrop.
3) not sure what you mean for this question. You mean have like small/medium/sized gas giants? I could try to look into it not sure how much of this stuff is hardcoded

Is it possible for there to be a version that keeps everything except for having more dungeons and micro dungeons? Perhaps call it "Builder's paradise edition" seeing it'd be good for people who want to have more space to build without having to tear down pre-existing structures.

@Mr. Thiccums Of course!
I like the name, you saved me from brainstorming for the "edition name" (I am terrible at naming things XD)
I'll leave the link here when it's done, stay tuned!
Thanks for your appreciation!
