Maybe you can add a event where you can stop the war or support it
LocIsBac 23 Oct, 2022 @ 3:43pm
Chain; Cat’s out of the Observation Post
Requirements; Passive Observation. 1 Previous Negative Event (World War, Pandemic, Asteroid Impact [Lesser, causes damage but not end of civilization]). Industrial or higher Civilization

Event 1: An urgent message from our observers. It seems several members of the post were dissatisfied with our inaction regarding the native’s recent turmoil. They have become infatuated with the inhabitants and have stolen a shuttle and made their way down to the planet. Reports are not confirmed however they may have taken several data banks with them and possibly even weaponry. Our sensors have lost immediate track of the fugitives. At this point the Observation Post leadership are attempting to locate the rogue members before they contaminate the planet or populace.

A- Get them back. NOW!

B- Disappointing. Very disappointing.

C- Interesting… maybe they have a point.

Event 2: Our Observation Post found the run-away members, but it was too late, they had already made contact with members of the Native Populace. At this time it is believed that their presence is not yet widely known. The Observation Post leadership believes there is a small window to act before things get too far. However, the team is made up of scientists and they do not have the means or expertise to perform the extraction. Forcibly or otherwise. They also wish to elevate the matter to a higher alert as it has been confirmed that (Random number of 1 to 3) Data Banks were taken. With this information it is believed the Natives would advance rapidly (number above) eras.

A- This is a military matter now. Stop them. (Issues Situation Log where an Admiral needs to be dispatched above world to lead the recovery operation. Either they retrieve the members and tech or the world advances several eras to possibly requesting their system)

B- We will give them a chance to correct their failure. Send them some supplies but they clean up their own mess. (200 Energy Credits and the Observation post switched to Covert Infiltration. Same potential results as above but far greater chance of failure.)

C- This is an opportunity. Attempt to contact these brave pioneers. We’ve sat on the fence for far too long. (Begins a Technological Advancement event)

Rare End Event 3: Our Scientists were wrong. The runaways gravely miscalculated the Native’s reactions after the trauma of recent events. They were paranoid and violent. Regrettably all of the Fugitives were killed by those they sought to aid. A shame. Thankfully without the team the Natives have no hope of accessing the data banks information. Unfortunately, the Natives are now very weary of the galaxy as a whole. They know we are out here, and they know we watched them struggle. They may not look to thank us if they ever reach the stars.

A- Dammit all! This is the worst possible situation!. Recall all the scientists from the Post and install a military team to keep an eye on them. We are done here. (Observation post is locked into Passive mode and Natives gain Xenophobe trait, +25 Nuclear War chance. Potential -100 Opinion of Player)

B- I see… unfortunate indeed. We will have to be much more careful in the future. (Natives gain Xenophobe trait, +25 Nuclear War chance. Potential -100 Opinion of Player)

C- This scared minority does not represent the entire planet. Ready other options, we will not leave them in the dark. (Starts Technological Advancement. Reduces Opinion gain from 100 to 25.)

A event handling a sudden shift to either fanatic ethic, and this will be caused by a war or other major incident. For example for a fanatic authoritarian there would be event called rise of the feudalism which would be based around the planet being dominated a new ideology based around more medieval lifestyle, but with more advance technology.

I'll think of some events related to fanatic xenophile/phobe; for now at least the primitive world war outcomes shift the primitive empire's ethics towards egalitarian/fanatic egalitarian/fanatic authoritarian

Interesting idea, I'll see if I can do something like this!

Maybe, you can try an event to prevent the primitives from destroying themselves with nuclear weapons.
Loathkei 27 Oct, 2022 @ 11:18am
Event: Over population
The natives of planet X is becoming overpopulated, this will lead to war over even basic things as water
Options:
1. Let them resolve it themselves ---> War event then trigger a few years later
2. A small purge would resolve the problem, it might upset the more pacifist citizens of our empire, but it would prevent total war -->may resolve the issue, may make the planet into religious as its seen as an act of god
3. Give them the technology to prevent the resource deficit --> provides them with space tech and will make them more materialistic and speed up their tech development --> May also cause them to rely on robots too much
4. Deploy the combat drones, if they are overpopulated then we will feed on the overflow, food is all meatbags are good for anyways
I think the current issue with Stellaris Primitives is that there aren't any in-depth interventions between player empire and primitives, so here's one.
(Yes this is based on First Strike the game, specifically the app version, the PC ver is abandoned for too long)

Event: Primitive Space War Brewing
Our observational outpost above [PlanetName] has reported extremely disturbing news: The planet's major powers' political crisis has reached a breaking point that armed conflict was inevitable. However, there was a twist: They are taking the fight to new heights via long-range weaponry-Yes, they are going to nuke the hell out of each other. But not just nuclear missiles, there were also very relatively advanced weapons being deployed: Some can carry smaller missiles for secondary targeting, some used electronics to disturb enemy weapons on a larger scale, some used radioactive substances to inflict maximum area denial effect and some tried more exotic ways on space warfare like satellite weaponry and rapid orbital deployment. In short, they have developed weapons that normally should only be achievable during FTL age--but they may kill each other much faster before they could reach FTL.

Default Selections:
The ramblings of Xenos are not our business (Default)
Let those Xenos kill each other; There will be one less potential enemy for us. (Any Xenophobe)
Its time to see who would win in this ultimate game. (Any Materialist)

Benevolent Intervention:
Maybe we should help them out this time? (Default, Diplomacy)/ I guess some force is needed to stop it. (Default, Military)
Get our diplomats ready. (Any Xenophile, Diplomacy) / We will prepare for their liberation. (Any Xenophile, Military)
They will soon learn what it means to "End Wars with Wars" (Any Militarist, Military)
Arrange a mass meeting, we will try to talk to them. (Any Pacifist, Diplomacy)
Begin intervention Protocols. (Rogue Servitors, Military)
Get the immigration department ready--We are going to evacuate the native citizens. (Free Haven Empires, new special project)

Malevolent Intervention:
This is the best time to conquer them. (Default)
Yes, finally its time to put chains on those Xenos! (Slave Empires)
We will accelerate their extinction soon. (Fanatic Purifiers and any Xenophobe)
Activating war protocols. (Determined Exterminators)
Quickly, before our food vanishes! (Necrophage and Devouring Swarm)

A few events to help you out a little:

Event: Which Ship of the Week? (All Benevolent Military and Malevolent Routes)
We have decided to use our fleet for this special operation, but which ship we should choose to operate?
  1. A corvette should be enough.
  2. A destroyer may be more adequate.
  3. A cruiser is more suitable for this operation.
  4. A battleship, we have to be very cautious.
  5. Give them a taste of Titan's Wrath.
  6. A Juggernaut would crush anyone who stands in our way.
  7. MAD Principle is the only way to make them stop, send in the Colossus!

Event: Failed Diplomacy (Benevolent Diplomacy Route)
Our operatives' negotiation with the [SpeciesName] went awry and failed to convince them to stand back. They are now determined to start the war as soon as possible with their ballistic missiles pointed directly at each other, what we should do next?
I guess we need more deterrence... (A special project is started)
If they don't comply, we will make them comply. (Transfer to Military Route)
Leave and never return. (The event ends)

Event: Emergency Evacuation Phase 1 Completed (Free Haven Evacuation Route)
Our first fleet of colony ships has arrived on [PlanetName] to conduct the first phase of evacuation. Due to the limited capacity of the ships, we could only prioritize the evacuation of small, poor nations that do not have any countermeasures against long-range weaponry to defend themselves from nuclear strikes. Fortunately, our evacuation went smoothly-All of the listed citizens are successfully evacuated from the Planet and will be temporally staying in these ships until further notice.
Excellent, now began phase 2. (Starts a special project on Phase 2)

Event: Sudden Explosions (All Benevolent Routes)
One of our ships carrying our personnel as well as a few [SpeciesName] refugees has exploded! All of the crew perished in this incident and the ship was shredded into pieces by the explosion. After further investigation, we found that the explosion is caused by another missile that contains an ECM Device on its warhead, where a kill signal is broadcasted so that all the weapons, particularly those that have a warhead, to fire or detonate. It is quite impressive that they managed to hack our systems, though.
Regardless, they will pay for this! (One of your ships will be lost permanently and increase militarist ethic attraction)

Event: Saturated Bombardment Averted! (Benevolent Military and Malevolent Route)
We have successfully averted saturated bombardment from one of [SpeciesName]'s major powers by infiltrating their nuclear launch sites. All of their nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles are locked down and unable to launch, while our ships orbiting the [Planet Name] are targeting such sites for their destruction. Soon, the nation will be left with no means of harming us and will be easily pressured to surrender.
Good job. (The event commences; difficulty decreases)

Event: Refugee crisis solution? (Benevolent Military Route)
Our special teams for the operation have encountered a rather annoying problem: The natives of this planet have permanently lost their homes due to the extremely destructive nature of the war. Currently, millions upon millions of rescued natives have congested our operation sites and our ships. Moreover, our supplies were also dwindling sharply as a result of overpopulation in these places. We must act now if we do not want to put our operation in jeopardy!
We will start to limit the number of natives on our sites. (Affects happiness of your pop and the relationship with the natives)
Invest in cryonics to put them to sleep until the intervention ends. (establish a special project to produce sleeping pods)
Call upon our people to temporarily shelter them. (Any Xenophile, increase xenophile ethics attraction, but may have some unforeseen consequences...)

Event: Native Anti-War Organization Contacted (Benevolent Military/Diplomacy Route)
Good news! We have made contact with an [SpeciesName] organization dedicated to stopping the war. After intensive negotiations, we can convince them to work with us to put a stop to this madness. Oh, and the leader requested to have a dialogue with you.
Open a Channel. (opens a diplomatic dialogue window with the leader of the organization)

Event: Natives have a Space Fleet! (All Routes)
  • Bad news: It turns out that one of the major powers has taken note of our technological superiority and constructed a small space fleet with some corvettes and a few destroyers. These ships, while do not have FTL capacity and are lightly armored, still could pack a punch as these ships focus on firepower output. For now, they are in the testing phase and hence were still located within the planet's biosphere. We can take this opportunity to sabotage their ships so that they won't be able to use them against us.
  • Bad News: The major powers of [PlanetName] have decided to band together and went into radio silence. Upon further investigation, we have found out that the major powers built a sizable space fleet composed of numerous corvettes, some destroyers and even a cruiser as fleet flagship. Each of these ships has equipped with weapons, shields, armor and computer systems that are almost indistinguishable from what we had during our early years of space expansion. They even have a very basic but working Hyperdrive for FTL travel as well as a small fleet of troopships for future retributive assaults. However, there is still hope: Those ships are still in the testing phase and hence did not leave the atmosphere. We can consider a sabotage operation to destroy their fleet before they could even reach the stars.
Go ahead, here are some resources. (Spend some resources for the sabotage)
Our sabotage operations are unfeasible at this time, just destroy them once they launched those ships. (A fleet from the planet will be launched as the enemy fleet after some time)

Fleet mechanics: For the former, a fleet composed of corvettes and a destroyer with T1 technologies will appear after some time but is not FTL capable; For the latter, two fleets will appear after some time: one composed of corvettes (including torpedo corvettes in the 3.6 ver), destroyers and a cruiser, another one simply consists of torpedo corvettes and troopships. All of the latter scenario's fleet are equipped with T2 technology, save for the T1 Hyperdrive.

Traitor Defected! (All Malevolent Routes)
It turns out that Admiral XXX has betrayed us and defected to [SpeciesName]! Now with the whole operation fleet and resources being under the natives' control, our operatives and military personnel have been driven out from the [SystemName], securing their independence. Moments ago, XXX opened comms to make demands for [SpeciesName]'s independence with the offer that the [SpeciesName] will cease all hostilities with [PlayerEmpire]. Should we heed their demands?
Fine, we give up and they will have their independence. (The event ends; Said Species will become an independent FTL Species)
We will fight you till the end! (Said Species will become an independent FTL Species and war will be immediately declared)

Event: A deal (Free Haven Evacuation Route)
With almost every [SpeciesName] evacuated from [PlanetName], the warring factions of the planet had effectively had their reserves and resource production manpower cut off. Their automation technology is not advanced enough to sustain large, continuous warfare and the pace of fighting is slowing down for all sides of the planet. This eventually forced one of the nations to broadcast their intentions of getting their people back while agreeing to cease all warfare operations. What we should do?
Agreed. (New special project to send the citizens back)
Tell them we will sit back and watch their government crumble into dust. (Continue the event, may lead to apocalypse ending)
Agreed, but require them to send their government officials to court for trial. (New Special Project to send the citizens back with an extra event once finished)

Event: The War Ends...but what to do now? (Benevolent Military/Diplomacy Route, no apocalypse ending)
Finally, the crisis has come to an end. But....what we should do now?
Just leave. (the event ends, but you will receive unity and influence bonuses; Xenophile empires have heightened relationship with you; Said species will have good relations with you once achieving FTL and become a star empire)
Ask if they wanna join us. (The event ends; Said species will be directly integrated into your empire once accepted; Needs to make another choice if rejected)
Well, time to do business! (The event ends; You will receive minerals, alloys, civilian goods, and food by paying energy credits, exotic gases, rare crystals, and volatile motes; Megacorp will be able to plop a branch office in the said planet)
Welcome them to the galactic community. (The event ends; The said species of the planet gets their starbase and becomes a protectorate of yours)
They are much better off under our command. (The event ends; The said species' star system integrates with your empire but there will be very low stability)
Well...TIME FOR CONQUERING STUFF! (Transfer to Malevolent Route)

Event: Cleanup Drive (Post-Event Benevolent Route)
The [SpeciesName] requested us to join their radiation cleanup campaign as they lack certain technologies that allow them to clean out affected locations swiftly. In exchange, they will offer us some minerals as payment. Should we accept this deal?
Fine. (Starts a new special project and receives minerals)
We have other more important things to do. (The event ends)

Awesome idea! I have indeed planned to create events that include interaction/communication with space age primitives, like them noticing a megastructure if you have built one in their system etc.
I'll probably publish the next update in the next few days, this one focuses on primitive exterminators & bugfixes mostly tho.
I'll definetely keep these interaction ideas in mind, I just have to figure out a good way to create them yet :D
Actually, I took some inspiration from the Dynamic Politics Events (especially the natives got space fleet part)
Sudden Explosions is basically FS' Damascus Burner.
For now, you just focus on bugfixing. I will wait~

Let me give you one event opener variant for your ease for the megastructure discovery

Event: Natives Saw Our Great Works!
  • Today, the crew in our observation post is in chaos as news of the [SpeciesName]'s discovery of one of our Megastructures breaks out. Apparently, one of their space telescopes turned around too well and allowed them to see our Science Nexus/Strategic Coordination Center/Mega Shipyard/Interstellar Assembly/Sentry Array/Habitat/Gateway/Hyper Relay built in their system. It is 100% certain this will be undeniable evidence for them to believe that they are not alone.
  • Today, the crew in our observation post is in chaos as news of the [SpeciesName]'s discovery of one of our Megastructures breaks out. Apparently, one of their latest space telescopes has allowed them to see further things much more clearer. And this, in turn, allows them to see our Dyson Sphere/Matter Decompressor/Ring World built in the system nearest to theirs. It is 100% certain this will be undeniable evidence for them to believe that they are not alone.

Just be silent. (May accidentally cause xenophobe ethics attraction to the natives)
I think we better break the silence; They are gonna notice us sooner or later anyways (Leading to a new small-mid scaled event chain)
Do you know what awaits the curious cat? DEATH. (Any Xenophobe; Began a special project on conquest/annihilation)

Thank you, I have implemented your curious cat response & the related special project in the new event where primitives notice a planet being terraformed.
I'll implement the megastructure event in the next few updates.
Nothing specific in mind, but a way for empires who are sharing technology with post-apocalyptic civilizations to lift them out of their apocalypse would be pretty neat.
Marce7411 23 Feb, 2024 @ 2:31pm
There is this idea that was circling around my head for quite some time, but I can't really put it into game do to non-existent programming abilities, so I hope it will be of use for you.

Requirements: Primitive civilisation at medieval era or bronze age or renneisance. Observation post on orbit.

Curious Predators.

During research on [planet name] our scientists detected large number of conflicts between primitives and species of apex predators capable of flight and expelling incendiary material as defensive mechanism, our scientists are very curious about those creatures and request to send a shuttle in order to capture one of them for research.

Responses.

Request approved(standard)
Such fascinating creatures, examine them closely(xenophile)
We never have enough data, proceed right away!(materialists)
Pay those monsters no mercy(xenophobe)
Begin the hunt, transmit it to our citizens!(militarist(gives +10% happiness for a year.))

(initiate special project that will take 60 days but won't have any requirements)

No, it would be of no use.

(Gains some unity.)

Requirements: Approval of capture.

The Hunt.

Creature had proven much more of a hassle to catch than we suspected, partly because of limitations our scientists were forced to endure; inability to use sleep-inducing substances do to no knowledge about creature's biology in order to avoid killing it by accident and making each escapade short so to not be detected by primitives, but eventually it fallen into one of our traps, team barely managed to arrive just as it was to break free and restrained it, as we speak, they are on the way to observation post for further research.

Response: Excellent.

Requirements: Time since The Hunt pop-out: 10 days.

Spark under verocity.

Throghout research our scientists gathered a lot of usefull data, as well as come to stunning conclusion just before vivisection was set to begin. The creature is sentient! Leading theory is that it evolved to be more and more intelligent for the sake of improved hunting profficency till the point of achieving full sentience, scientists are bafled that they failed to recognise all the signs that were on plain saight this entire time.

Responses.

Amazing, try to communicate with it(standard)
Oh no! We must apologise(xenophile)
Proceed with vivisection(xenophobe/gestalt non-servitor)
Perfect, another slave/Perfect, another drone(slavery allowed/gestalt with assimilation ability)
Error! Sentient organic creature mishandled, immediatelly apply mandatory pampering and terminate responsible units(rogue servitors)

(Upon chosing any option two hunter-gatherer [or some custom job if this don't work] pops with dragon portrait from reptilian category and named Fire-Worms and traits: [unremovable trait] Draconic(cost 0)[description:Very big, long-lived, durable and powerfull carnivores devoid of dexterity necessary for performing menial tasks efficiently but excelling in leadership roles.]: food consumption +2, consumer goods upkeep +40%, leader lifespan +120 years, army damage +120% army health +100%, worker output -30%, leader output +200%. Quarrelsome, Slow Breeders, spawns on the planet)

Requirements: Vivisection chosen.

Usefull Biology

Our scientists finished vivisection, insight gained from this peculiar creature's fire breath and hyper-efficient digestive system powering it is sure to bolster our empire!: Exotic gas refining and bioreactor technology gained.

Response:

It will come in handy(standard)
Sacrifice for science(materialists, additionall 10000 biology research points)
At least it have some uses(xenophobic, additionall 5000 unity gained)

Requirements: Rogue Servitor option chosen 30 days ago.

All systems in order.

With organic secured and receiving therapy to repair emotional damage done to it, as well as drones responsible for mishandling disposed of, observation post systems stand ready to perform its functions again, with addition of pampering facility for Fire-Worm, as we discerned name of its species from dialogue.

Response:

Acknowledged.

Requirements: All systems in order happened year before.

Cute Derg.

At first Fire-Worm resisted pampering, however with time he got used to our automated life style, he likes strategic games, massages, eating and sleeping in particular. Peculiary enough, he does not feels lonely despite lack of others of his kind, or in fact any organic creature on-board observation outpost. Our drones treat it as their personal bio-trophy.

Response:

Yay!(Observation outposts have they output increased by 200% permanently.)

Requirements: Assimilation chosen 30 days before.

New Drone on the outpost.

All free will is extinguished from Fire-Worm, as we learned its race is called, and it is already performing tasks on observation outpost, thanks to our complete synergy with it, we manged to obtain deepest secrets of its biology.:Exotic gas refining and bioreactor technologies gained.

Response:

Another driplet in the ocean.

Requirements: Slavery option chosen 30 days ago.

Too proud for his own good.

Our best attempts at breaking will of Fire-Worm were proven unsuccesfull time and time again, and frustrated crew member handling his punishement overstepped and killed him, thankfully vivisection commenced quickly enough to gain usefull biological data.:Exotic gas refining and bioreactor technologies gained.[i/]

Response: It is acceptable.

Requirements: Other response than vivisection, bio-trophy or slavery chosen.

Request.

After a period of failures we managed to estabilish contact with creature, at first it responses were aggresive but after we managed to explain our mistake it calmed down somewhat and after short conversation got interest in our capabilities, peculiary enough, it is requesting joining our empire.

Responses:

Sure, why not?(standard)
But of course, everyone is welcome!(xenophile, additional 5000 unity and +10% unity for 10 years)

No. Just dump it back onto the rock you took it from.

Requirements: Fire-Worm is allowed to join our empire.

Model citizen.

Fire-Worm that joined our empire quickly become acquainted with our society and technology, practically devouring all the educational material we give him and participating in all kinds of cultural events, he got quite famous throughout our populace do to highly substantive and well-worded praise of our civilisation ideals and achievements.

Glorious!(+10% unity and happiness for 10 years.)

Requirements: Model Citizen happened year ago.

Endeavour to enlightement.

Fire-Worm with help of his various fans managed to obtain big resources in recent donation in order to help his race into our empire, he is only requesting our permission and some data from observation post before proceeding.

Responses:

Sure, why not?

We are in no need for more of them.

If permission is granted, event will happen 10 years after:

Enlightened Beasts

Fire-Worm's efforts had proven succesfull, and around half of his kind population decided to join our empire, quickly becoming good citizens just as he himself.

(One Fire-Worm pop is resettled from primitive planet to your capital.)

Frankly, this isn't even all, but I can't write it all today.
