As the EDF picks up the remains of the space station and its crew, the government signs a document with Trustars, a spacetravel based organization, to build a magnetized, almost firearm-like propulsion system. The concept will be to send small robots to hover just outside the atmos of Planet Mars, collecting data from Valleris where the Republic was based. It was so powerful, it could promise to have spacecraft out of Earth SOI by just 40 minutes.
MARS7 & 8 began to break ties with MARS9. The police in M7 encourage civilians not to do this, yet, M7 civilians began to steal resources from M9, in rebellion of the Solar War. It was doing nothing to help the government of M7, so despite the wishes of civilian, they reconnected with the Earth, promising peace and asking for an order of haulers to be placed to Mars, to take the entire Colony back to Earth. EDF was quick to accept this offer, but reminded them that MARS7 Colonial Haulers were outdated, and so asked them to wait a month, but M7 declined. The order was placed and the haulers would arrive by next week.
The Trustars railgun was completed the day after this order was placed. The company was excited to get it running, and the test launches were all complete by the end of the same day. The government saw this as a promising new tech (since it can be launched hundreds of times per day) and they paid Trustars very well for their work on the project. To this day, Trustellar (formerly Trustars) is the 2nd richest organization of human origin, after Cauman Galactic of the Alpha Centauri / Mira / Vega / Betelgeuse Nebula systems.
M7 docked up everything it had and burned to the way home. Some people were ecstatic about returning to their grandkids on Earth, but the majority was angry about the decision of their powers. In orbit, the haulers began to slowly decrease their distance from 1 km to dock eachother on the larger stage. Captain Darreyl Woodman of the Civil Module M7CH3 said over communications, "Don't get too close." Suddenly, M7CH1 burned far left in a trajectory of the Sun,
melting M7CH2 on its left side. The explosion of a booster in M7CH2 sent an RCS thruster spinning into M7CH3, whipping the dead bodies of 11 civilians out of the main capsule. As they got sucked out, several slipped under the fairing and detatched it at a high speed, sending that hurtling back to Mars. M7CH5 Made the journey un injured, but communication was lost with the 4 others, including the civil module with all 400+ people on board.
It was previously believed M7CH1 was lost after the window it took sent it into the Sun's surface.
There is evidence that suggests a part of the hauler, containing its crew and service parts, was on the surface of Mercury. Public media refers to this as Mercury1, however, there is no solid evidence to suggest that there could be people still alive on the surface, because of the disgusting temperature rises during day and drops during night on said planet.
Several more sattellite guns began construction soon after the first was constructed. An incident occured at the day of the 566th launch of the Oklahoma sat-gun. The perpetrator, a man simply known as Lee, had put a large tank of oxygen inside the central tank of the launcher. Evidence from the site of the disaster suggest that the tank, stuck to the side of the center wall, was equipped with some sort of device that lit a fire inside the tank, which then opened, releasing the heat onto the powder in the central tank. It was presumably controlled by a remote, however Lee still perished during the execution of his plan. A large magnetic fire burst from the tank, causing a massive explosion that spread to the east, west, and underbarrel tanks. The exact magnitude of what occured could not be recorded accurately, as during the Solar War, most states near Oklahoma were unoccupied to make way for large operations that were significant targets for ROM attacks. At its smallest, the explosion was estimated to be about 1.22 megatons of TNT worth, however, this is just an estimate based on the crater's diameter, and the explosion could have been much larger.
