I found this Easter Egg in Two Betrayals and I assume it was done because no one ever checks this room since you don't have to. I just want to know what is going on here. Are the Elites marked as allies and what is the point of the elevator switches?

Just found this myself, I am also stumped on what the two elevator switches do since they just activate the elevator like the regular switch, you can crouch jump to get inside the hallway past the burning debris, and can do the same to get out just a little bit harder.
