Star Wars Factions "A new hope"-crash workaround (OBSOLETE)
EDIT: As this crash bug should be fixed now, this workaround has lost its purpose. Will now close this.

Since 23 juli 2024 an edit to CommonAsteroidTypes made by this mod will cause users using that mod and this mod to have their game crash.

A workaround exists and can be done by commenting out around 6 lines in one of the Star Wars Factions files.

The workaround is to go here:

steamapps\workshop\content\799600\3121346591\career\sectors\sector_basic

and open up the file

sector_sw_nh_basic.rules

with a text editor (I use Notepad++)

Search all lines containing

A_New_Hope

and comment out those lines.

The affected lines should now look something like this:

// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_trade_stations.rules> // DONE! Configuration for generating trade stations
&<../sysgen_sw_military_stations.rules> // Configuration for generating military stations
// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_wanderers.rules> // DONE! Configuration for generating wanderer ships
// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_bounties.rules> // Configuration for generating bounty missions
// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_asteroids.rules> // DONE! Configuration for generating asteroid fields
&<../sysgen_sw_misc_discoverables.rules> // Configuration for generating miscellaneous discoverables
// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_ftl_beacons.rules> // Configuration for generating FTL beacons
// &<../A_New_Hope/sysgen_sw_sim_global_missions.rules> // DONE! Configuration for generating global missions

What these edits do is to prevent one of the custom sectors from this mod from getting loaded into the game, which prevents their edit from causing a crash when used together with Mineable Megaroids.

Lets hope this workaround is permanent :)
