Hey Mr. 'Vadam, I was playing Regret and had a Battle Rifle I'd carried over from the last level. However, after defeating the first pair of Hunters and getting the weapon drop just before the gondola arrives, I was confused when I got the option to pick up a Battle Rifle even though I was holding one. On picking it up, it looked a little different from the E3 style one you've put in: this one looked just like the standard Halo 2 BR but with no ammo counter and a larger scope like on the E3 one. Both BRs perform identically. I doubt this was intentional so I thought I'd bring this up.
