I'm co-op'ing through the mod with a friend in case that affects anything, but it seems like the final gondola isn't being properly treated as a moving platform. Instead, the player will just remain in their current position appearing to slide backwards off of it, and needs to continually walk forwards to keep up or position themselves so that their back is against a solid part of the structure to remain on it until it comes to a stop.
