Better With Friends - A Halo CE Campaign Mod
A few random suggestions based on other mods.
Love this mod, and hope to see it thrive but a few suggestions based on things like RUBYS rebalance, super campaign, and combat revolved. will go through the level halo for just an idea sweep.

This topic has a level suggestion and bellow weapon and unit suggestions.

Level concept: Halo.

Level start: the crash happens and the players pod ends up abandoned like normal. As the player steps out ODST drop pods are seen falling from the sky in the distance in the direction the player is to go. A falcon (using pelican code?) flies over in that direction as well, it is on fire and obviously about to crash.

The start goes like normal evade the drop ship, shoot down the banshees, and move to the other group.


Once at the group, the player sees a covenant drop ship just as it takes off, rocket fire hitting it from the tower as an ODST with a rocket launcher is seen up there. Johnson meets up with the player and gives them a run down. Like normal another drop ship comes in but this one has an escort.

The ODST on the tower has a lock on rocket launcher an will fire only at aircraft (forget how this is done but a few mods have done it.)

With the over head fire support And the survivors the player will clear things up. A bug fix is also shown as the Pelican can fill up with 10 soldiers instead of the default 6 (despite having 10 seats.). Player is dropped a hog like normal as the other pods come in.

Once in the cave the game goes like normal for a bit until they hit the split area with the light bridge. here the player will see a covenant camp set up and their first new weapon. The covenant shotgun from revolved (if allowed). being used by a few jackals. these new jackal ranks have darker shields and use the shotgun heavily. the fight goes like normal fire support form the passenger and gunner and the light bridge is activated.

Upon leaving the cave the next change happens, you see two pelicans flying over having picked up survivors one with a hog on its back which it will drop nearby with 3 marines who will get in, said hog will give fire support on the main river area untill you pick a path.

By the cliff

Here the covenant own the main structure a spirit can be seen dropping a shade turret and a few grunts. the player has to make their way bellow like before unlike before though this group of marines has only two marines and the command crew. Many of which are unarmed as their weapon stash was left at the drop pod. Just escort them out and clear out the covenant


Top of the hill

This one is interesting, on the bottom of the hill you will see a few jackals shooting the escape pod inside are two crew members hiding, though sniper fire kills the jackals and the crew run to the top. On the top is the rest of the marines including a few ODSTs. one of the ODSTs has a sniper rifle. the wounded shown here are actually wounded using the animations. and unable to fight a medic is seen helping them.

New soldier type shown: medic, these guys have a medkit on their back and white armor, hit use near them to heal infinite times.

combat changes. instead of one drop ship coming in it is two one on each side. Though they are still easy targets.

The rock slide

This one is unique as before entering it the rock slide have blocked vehicle access, (to prevent the why leave the hog be heind.) it is also set up in a way you have to do this one last.

Upon entering you will see a pelican taking off having picked up some survivors, an allied hog destroyed nearby with its turret still working a marine on said turret. upon entering you will find this one is in the lull after an attack, destroyed ghosts nearby and even a wrecked banshee. all showing that hey this group has been the main focus.

Holding off the covenant here is harder then normal as you don't have your armor, and in that last wave they drop in a wraith. though you are not expected to take it out as a falcon is seen flying over with two grenade turrets on the side starting half way through, this is your air support. and it will destroy the wraith.

Once everything is said and done two pelicans will come in echo 419 and one other, picking up marines. the mission ends like normal.

UNIT SUGGESTIONS

Jackal bulkward
info: a jackal with armor(more HP) and a plasma shotgun. these guys are highly defensive trying to stay immobile and take out targets with frontal blasts.


ODST
info: heavily armored and armed, can be seen using any UNSC or covenant weapon. in the level above, you see them with rocket launchers, snipers, a plasma pistol, and ARs, but they can also use UNSC flamethrowers, needlers, And other obscure weapons.

Medic
info: seen in a few places these soldier have white armor with a green cross, they have a backpack full of medkits on their back. when intereacted with the player will be healled (if possible.)

weapon suggestions

flamethrower
info: first seen on assault on the control room, this weapon is used by ODSTs to deal with large groups of grunts, and later seen used against the flood. See RUBY's rebalance on use suggestion.


Plasma shotgun (I forgot the name)
info: a close range covenant weapon, used mostly be jackals and elites. extremely dangerous up close and a good alt to the shotgun when found.


MA5 breacher
info: as seen in SOI's mod, this is an assault rifle with a grenade launcher, exclusively seen on ODSTs in the earlier levels, it replaces the grenade throw with a launcher (if possible for the AI to use) in the players hand it has a 6 shot GL mag. ammo is rare though. other then that is a standard Ma5B with a 60 round mag.

I don't know if it would be possible, but I'd love to see this mod in the other campaigns as well.
