More trait ideas - Please add them in here
If you have any ideas for new character traits to add, please post them in here. I can't promise I'll add your suggestions but I'll consider all of them.

I don't want to go over the top and add hundreds of character traits. The base game currently has 76 different traits, so I'll probably stop at a max of 80 traits for this mod.

Idea from comments section:

I think the doctor background should also have a small recovery bonus if it's going to have a whopping -10% killrate tbh.

Also thought of a few new ones

Personality
Melancholy - -20 Popularity/-5% Army/Navy power projection -20% infamy generation as ruler (because they seem weak)/-2% Interest Group Political Strength as IG leader

Skills
Equestrian - +Small amount of Health/+Political strength of officers and landowners as ruler/+15 popularity as IG leader/Small offensive bonus and +100% Charted Terrain Chance as commander

Martial Artist (martial arts were common among many classes in the 1800's!) - +small amount of health and popularity/+5% kill rate as ruler/+5% Interest Group Political Strength as IG leader/+15% offense and +100% Aggressive Maneuver Chance as Commander

I like your suggestion for the Doctor trait. Pious also has -10% kill rate and balances it with increased recovery rate so that makes sense.

I love the Melancholy idea (its one of my favourite words!) but I want to avoid traits that are too negative, so I'll have to think about that.

The Equestrian one is good, I could maybe combine that with the Horse Rider trait.

I'll consider the Martial Arts one, though it was more popular in the far east than Europe. I considered adding Boxer as that was popular in Europe but less so in other cultures. I wanted traits that could potentially apply to any culture.

But thanks, I'll consider them all!

Well boxing was technically a martial art, there was also Bartitsu in England https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartitsu that came about in the late 19th century.
