Install on MacOS
I have good news and bad news for you.

The good news: Better Car Physics can be installed on MacOS.

The bad news: For a non-technical person it might be a bit complicated or confusing.

The basic process is the same as on windows, just that the files are in a different location.

You will not be able to find these through Finder unfortunately, you will need to open them through the terminal. This is where it gets a bit technical.

Disclaimer: You follow these instructions at your own risk. If you don't feel comfortable doing them, don't do it. I'm not responsible for any damage you might do to your system.

  • Press command + space to open spotlight search
  • Type 'terminal' and run it
  • BE VERY CAREFUL NOW. If you type the wrong things, you can seriously mess up your computer.
  • Paste this and press enter
    open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/108600/2909035179/mods/BetterCarPhysics
  • A finder window should open - put it to the side for now
  • Back in the terminal, paste this and press enter
    open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid/Project\ Zomboid.app/Contents/Java/
  • A second finder window should open
  • Close the terminal
  • Now one of the Finder windows should read 'BetterCarPhysics' at the top. From there copy the zombie folder (Select, then Command + C)
  • Click on the other Finder window and paste (Command + V)
  • It should ask you whether to merge or replace. Choose merge.
  • Manual steps done!
  • Start Project Zomboid
  • Enable the BetterCarPhysics mod (+ ModOptions)

It doesn't ask me to "whether to merge or replace" I just paste it and that's it. Is that something to be worried about, or its totally normal or fine¿¿

@El Baron Rojo You might have pasted in the wrong folder. It must overwrite (merge with) the original game files, otherwise it wont work.

Quick correction: I meant merge instead of replace of course (as stated in the guide)

Then. I choose to replace it¿¿ Because it says: 'A folder named "zombie" already exists in this location.
Do you want to replace it with the one you are copying?' and it gives me the option of stop or replace just that

Hi, I'm a mac user and saw the new update but had abit of trouble when updating the mod. Do you have to unsubscribe and subscribe again then merge the new folder? Can you please suggest some steps to update the mod? Thank you!

@Micsmicster When you get the in-game popup, all you have to do is merge the folder again. Basically just repeat the steps of the guide.

as a MacOS User i'd like to add; you don't specifically need to go to terminal, go to steam, "Browse Local Files" it should open Finder, from there go to the Menu Bar>View>Show Path Bar, then you can use that to follow the directory above.

FYI you don't need the terminal at all.
Once in your Library/App Support/Steam/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid just right click the launch file and choose "Show Package Contents"
This will get you into the root files for the game where you can find the "zombie" folder

Also, if you can't find the Library folder right click the finder window in your user directory and check the "Show Library Folder" (don't remember the exact wording)
