LIVING STANDARD MATTERS

When you have a species set to assimilation, go look at the assimilation living standard. This is going to set the destination. If you have the relevant tgradition from psionics/cyborg/synths then the specific standard will be unlocked.

Cyborg/Psionic assimilation => the species will gain cyborg/psionic/both traits depending on what traditions you have. (It goes off the assimilation tradition)

Synthetic assimilation => species will go to synths.

You will need to de-hive mind a hive drone as a separate step.
