Serious Description
No core files are altered. Clean & stackable! This mod delivers its changes through a buff.

No Wasted Points is a mod that expands upon Food, Water, Oxygen, and wild movement speed, rather than just simply removing them from the equation. Its purpose is to give players and dinos alike a reason to value these stats just as they do Weight, Health, Melee Damage, etc.

It achieves these effects by applying a buff to players which is then pollinated to creatures. The buffs check for the levels players or creatures have spent into a stat and modifies them.



Dino Stats
These bonuses apply only to wild/bred (not tamed) levels.

Movement Speed

Movement Speed increases the movement speed of rideable creatures by +0.5% per level. Breed for speed!

Food

Food increases the knockback resistance of rideable creatures by +1% per level and +2% per level for non-rideable creatures.

The weight of inventory items is also adjusted, -0.5% per level, up to a ceiling of 50% weight reduction (Weight Reduction caps at 100 levels into Food.)

Non-rideable creatures also receive a unique bonus from Food points. Each level into food = 0.85% damage resistance, up to a ceiling of 85%. This damage resistance stacks with other sources. (Non-rideable Damage Resistance caps at 100 levels into Food.)

Oxygen

In 5 second intervals, No Wasted Points will add health and stamina to the creature, even while in combat and while sprinting! 1 Oxygen level = +2 HP recovered for rideable creatures, +3 for non-rideable creatures. 1 level into Oxygen = +2.5% of its running stamina cost regenerated per interval (+0.5% to a creature's uptime while sprinting), up to a ceiling of 250% of its running stamina cost regenerated (+100% sprinting uptime.) (Stamina Regeneration caps at 100 levels into Oxygen.)

For fliers, Oxygen also increases movement speed by 0.5% per level. Non-rideable fliers are able to double-dip on both Oxygen speed levels and natural Movement Speed levels.

Stamina

For all creatures, Stamina improves rotation rate (turning speed) at a rate of 0.5% per level, up to a maximum bonus of 50%. (Rotation bonus caps at 100 levels into Stamina.)

For non-rideable creatures, Stamina increases movement speed by 0.5% per level and this stacks with natural Movement Speed levels. Non-rideable fliers benefit from Stamina, Movement Speed, and Oxygen for their final speed bonus!



Player Stats

The buff takes time to refresh its modifiers, hence new levels into a stat wont take effect immediately. At most the gap will be 10 seconds.

Food - Increases knockback resistance by 10% per level and increases damage resistance by 0.5% per level, up to a ceiling of 25% (Damage resistance caps at 50 levels into Food.)

Water - In 5-6 second intervals, No Wasted Points will add health and stamina to the character, even while in combat and while sprinting! Each level into Water adds +0.5 to the intermittent HP Regen and +5% to stamina regenerated per interval (+1% sprinting uptime), up to a ceiling of 250% stamina regenerated/100% uptime bonus. (Stamina Regen bonus caps at 50 levels into Water.)

Oxygen - Improves Jump Height by +2% per level. Fall damage requires longer falls to take fall damage and having a lowered fall damage amount when they do begin to take fall damage. Fall Speed required to take fall damage increases by 2% per Oxygen level, up to a ceiling of +100% bonus. Fall damage multiplier reduces by 1% per Oxygen level, up to a ceiling of 50% fall damage reduction. (Fall modifiers cap at 50 levels into Oxygen.)

Crafting Skill - Reduces weight of items in inventory by 1% per level, up to a ceiling of 50% weight reduction. (Weight Reduction caps at 50 levels into Crafting Skill.)



Custom Items

There are two No Wasted Points item included with the mod, available at level 1 with a crafting requirement of 1 Thatch.

GFI spawncode = cheat gfi nwp 1 0 0

Refreshes the buff for creatures so that freshly tamed animals can account for post-taming modifiers!

GFI spawncode = cheat gfi nwp_player 1 0 0

Effectively enables the mod by giving the player the buff which then pollinates to dinos in render range. The item can also be consumed to disable the buff if needed (important for players using CE: Races, the in-game description gives more details.)

In regards to the mass effect, does that also increase drag weight, as the side-effects sound quite similar. All-around curious in regards to that, sounds funky.

I can still haul around my Anky's with my Argy like nothing every happened, that's what really matters here. :D

A little more on the nitty-gritty of it all:

"Drag Weight" is an ARK-specific mechanic, it is almost always the thing that ARK uses to determine the apparent "Size" or "Weight" of a creature. Stun debuffs, bolas, almost all pouncing/grabbing dinos (TLC Raptor excepted), all use Drag Weight.

For fliers and almost all grabbing dinos, it's also complemented by "Grab Weight."

TLC Raptors are a notable exception, they actually do check for Mass instead of Drag Weight for some reason. I do want to address that so they're not left behind.

"Mass" specifically is something baked into Unreal Engine itself. Every Character has this as a property and guides how physics influences the Character. The knockback that all attacks inflict interacts with Mass, and more Mass = less knockback.

ok so a few questions, 1. do the stat buffs reset when you die? cause i no longer have the lil buff thing to the right after dying, 2. is spawning the cheat gfi nwp_player 1 0 0 the only way to get the buff or do u naturally spawn with it in a new world?. 3. if it does reset when i die is there a way to fix/change that?
