Interesting, its as if HalfLife2.ttf is not being recognized. I'm guessing regular HUD works fine. I'll investigate when I can.

I don't think there is. I looked it up time ago and apparently custom fonts aren't supported in Linux.

Linux user chiming in - in my specific case, custom fonts work if they're installed at the system level. If you just put them into garrysmod/resource, the game will not be able to find them. Same on macOS if I remember correctly.

worth noting that this can be caused by sloppily porting whole sourcemod folders into your gmod addons, used to happen to me a lot when i'd unintentionally bring all the scripts and ui crud from the ghosthunt sourcemod into gmod.

so people who are putting, say, the whole entropy zero sourcemod into gmod, this could be causing problems.

I'm running Chromium x64 and i have letter icons, and a Q cross-hair.

I'm having a problem where some of the icons are letters, and the cross-hair is showing up as a Q. I am also running Chromium x64.

Linux? Windows? Is the default font affected? Have you checked the possible causes?

I'm using Windows 10 and not any beta branches, and there are letters for the HL2 weapons and items, and my crosshair is a Q. Also the fonts for the Health and Suit indicators look like basic Callibri fonts.

Does it work right in the default HUD? Have you tampered with fonts? (installed or removed HalfLife2.ttf, etc.)
