Reform and Rule Compatibility
Edit: the compatibility patch is live!

@LETS GO KANGAROOS reported that when playing with Reform and Rule + Dynamic Towns, Free Thought and the Commerce finisher give bonuses to Large Towns but not Towns.

Designing a fix
Here's my proposal for combining the policies of both mods with the following changes to Reform and Rule:
  • Tradition Finisher: Suburbs
  • Liberty Finisher: Burgs
  • Aesthetics (Flourishing of the Arts): +2 Culture from Large Towns
  • Commerce Opener: no Culture from Towns etc., but +1 Culture from Markets, Banks, and Stock Exchanges
  • Commerce (Mercantilism): +1 Gold from Towns, +2 Gold from Large Towns
  • Exploration Finisher: Villas
  • Rationalism (Scientific Revolution): +1 Science from Towns, +2 Science from Large Towns

Delivering compatibility
I plan to release (edit: released!) a separate compatibility mod that:
  • requires both Reform and Rule + Dynamic Towns
  • works regardless of subscription order
  • fixes all yields as outlined above
  • fixes all policy text, including showing Dynamic Towns finishers

Any feedback is welcome!

Dev notes: why didn't Town yields show up?
If you subscribed to Dynamic Towns first, you wouldn't get any of the Town or Large Town yield bonuses at all, since Reform and Rule deletes all yields from these policies. But since Dynamic Towns was subscribed second and so loads after Reform and Rule, it's coming in fresh and adding the Large Town yields. Dynamic Towns doesn't actually add regular Town yields -- it moves the existing Trading Post yields onto Towns -- and there's nothing left to move in this case.

Wow, thank you! Way more than I expected. If I unsub and resub to R&R I'm guessing that does the trick without the text changes?

Sure, no problem! Hmm, I'd almost say you might want to just wait a day or two until I get the compatibility mod out. It isn't actually that much work!

Well, my initial design idea didn't exactly work out, since the only policy in Reform and Rule that affects Trading Posts is the Commerce opener. I updated the post above with my new proposal.
