Unions of the Free Peoples
Dev Diary and Release Announcement:

With the release of Version 4 of Realms in Exile, this submod will be getting a complete rework. While I contemplated several possible routes to take with this, I have finally settled on one. In order to minimize incompatibility issues and load order complexity, I have decided to keep this as one single submod as opposed to several.

However, I also want to allow as much customization as possible with which races will be compatible in your playthroughs. To do this, each race (Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Hobbits), will be getting a game rule for which races they are compatible with. Here is the one for Men for example:

So in order to begin a relationship between a Dwarven player and an Elven partner for example, the Dwarves game rule must allow Elves and the Elves game rule must allow Dwarves.

All interracial relationships must become soulmates before marriage is allowed, and will suffer the malus to romance scheme power + success chance. If either partner is an Elf the decision to have a child will be used, otherwise childbearing will occur as in vanilla.

This mod’s rework will be released alongside the MAIN release of Realms in Exile version 4 (not the OPEN BETA). Thanks for reading. Feel free to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or feedback, and stay tuned for more previews as development progresses.

What of the race's progeny? If Elf, are they always the non-elven race? If man + any, is it always man?

If the union includes an Elf, they will always be non-Elven, otherwise they will most likely just follow vanilla patri/matrilineal inheritance mechanics

I dont know if it's possible gameplay wise but making a child with a Maia would be awesome if you can implement such a thing.
Right now they can't be married or have children which isn't accurate lore wise since melian did have a child
