The service industry of this mod simulates the high proportion of service industry GDP in developed countries
Dear Mod Author,
Your mod is excellent, but I have an idea regarding the service industry simulation. By adjusting the service goods in this mod to reflect the tertiary sector accounting for over 50% of GDP (as seen in developed countries), it could significantly enhance gameplay.
I experimented by setting three service goods to be non-tradable and non-demanded while increasing their prices. This created "artificial" service demands where buildings generate continuous profits simply by existing. However, since these buildings still require physical inputs (e.g., processed food), high prices for basic commodities would limit their profitability - creating a balancing mechanism.
This system could:
Provide new GDP growth engines for post-industrial nations
Increase service sector employment
Force expansion into resource acquisition (or through foreign investments)
Create demand for advanced goods like automobiles/telephones (potentially requiring new production chains or buildings)
Would you consider refining this concept? I believe it addresses late-game unemployment and GDP stagnation while maintaining economic realism through input costs.
Best regards.
