Lumina: Guide
This guide is designed to assist you in utilizing the Lumina mod, an innovative post-processing option for Cities Skylines. In the following sections, we will explore several valuable features, including Lightning, Fog Settings, and Cubemaps. The guide is divided into three parts, each corresponding to a Lumina tab, namely Lightning, Styles, and Visualism.

Please note that we will exclude the LUT Creator from this discussion, but we'll provide more details on this later on.

You will encounter a tab with multiple sliders that might look overwhelming but they are actually really easy to modify and adjust to your desired liking. All these can be set up automatically by using a Style instead, if you don't feel like adjusting sliders.

However, we'll go through some of the sliders in here.

Brightness, Gamma and Contrast.

Three settings - Brightness, Gamma, and Contrast - grant you the ability to modify different aspects of the city's overall visual appearance.

Brightness: This parameter enables you to adjust the overall luminance or intensity of the city's display. Increasing brightness makes the scene brighter and more vibrant, while decreasing it creates a darker and less illuminated atmosphere.

Gamma: Gamma refers to the relationship between the input and output brightness values of an image. By adjusting the gamma setting, you can fine-tune the mid-tone luminosity, impacting the overall brightness distribution and contrast within the city's visuals.

Contrast: This setting allows you to control the difference between the darkest and lightest areas of the city. Raising the contrast level enhances the distinction between shadows and highlights, resulting in a more vivid and dynamic scene.

Hue, Tint, Sun Temperature, Sun Tint, Sky Temp, Sky Tint, Moon Temperature, Moon Tint, Moon Light, Twilight Tint

Hue: Hue represents the dominant color tone applied to the city's visuals. Adjusting this setting alters the primary color perceived in the scene, allowing you to create diverse and distinctive atmospheres.

Tint: Tint provides a means to add a subtle color cast or overlay to the city. By manipulating the tint, you can infuse the environment with a particular color shade without drastically altering the underlying hues.

Sun Temperature: This setting controls the color temperature of the sunlight in the city. Lower values produce a cooler, bluish tint, while higher values yield a warmer, more orange or yellowish appearance.

Sun Tint: Sun Tint allows you to apply a specific color to the sunlight, adding creative effects to the city's lighting. For instance, you can give the sunlight a golden or magenta hue to evoke different moods.

Sky Temperature: Similar to Sun Temperature, this parameter governs the color temperature, but specifically for the sky. It affects the overall color of the sky, influencing whether it appears cooler (bluish) or warmer (reddish) in the city's visuals.

Sky Tint: Sky Tint enables you to tint the sky with a chosen color. By modifying this setting, you can impart a unique atmospheric quality to the city, such as a purple-tinged evening sky or a green-tinged alien landscape.

Moon Temperature: Moon Temperature determines the color temperature of the moonlight. Lower values give the moonlight a cooler, bluish tone, while higher values provide a warmer, more yellowish glow.

Moon Tint: Moon Tint, like Sun Tint, allows you to apply a specific color to the moonlight. This feature adds an artistic touch, enabling you to craft a fantasy-like scene or evoke specific emotions.

Moon Light: This setting controls the intensity of the moonlight in the city. Adjusting it can create varying degrees of illumination from the moon, ranging from a faint glow to a bright, moonlit night.

Twilight Tint: Twilight Tint grants you the ability to add a color cast to the transitional period between day and night. By altering this setting, you can set the mood for dusk or dawn scenes.

Additionally, the "enable sky tonemapping checkbox" acts as a master switch. Enabling it or disabling the above sliders.

Styles

Styles are Lumina Presets. Based on the previously mentioned sliders you can also save your own and publish it yourself. If you're coming from the old relight though you can also merge your relight preset to work with Lumina. Refer to this guide: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2983036781/3808406007545825982/

Simply head to Styles, find your desired style and click 'Load'.
To Save, simply click 'Save'. You can then restart the game and publish your style.

If you're seeking a simple and appealing appearance for your city but finding it challenging to achieve, here are some essential styles I made up myself and you can subscribe to in the Steam Workshop.

Cold Atmosphere: This style aims to recreate the nostalgic effect of the old Daylight Classic.
