AI Not Sieging, Sitting Outside of Cities
Playing as Lothlorien, and us and Imladris have moved down to Isengard as Rhun, Moria, and Dol Guldur are dead. Mt. Gundabad is down to its last two fiefs, the main Mt. Gundabad and the outpost right next to it. When I look around I see Erebor sitting outside of Mt. Gundabad with about 200 troops, not sieging. Hovering over the fief, there isn't any (Under Siege) text. It has about 900 enemies, but no reinforcements have shown up and they've been sitting there for days doing nothing. Same with the outpost but with the wood elves and andiun. About 400 total between the elves and men just sitting there not sieging the outpost with 600 and not moving around, nor are any other lords coming to sit with them.

Is there something wrong? Not really sure how to help them as they aren't even starting sieges to chip away. Maybe I just need to wait longer?

You can initiate a siege by spending your Influence.

I see. Thanks for your response. I wasn't aware of this. Looks like I need to get a much higher rank to be able to influence them (not my faction) so ill work on that for a while

Yeah, it's kind of a big deal if you want to break a stronghold populated enough to take multiple waves of factions to finally win. One faction might siege that you know is going to lose, but if you can follow it up immediately with another siege you can salvage some of those losses.

From my recent experience there is now a minimum requirement on the siege leader to have 100 troops to initiate the siege. Otherwise they will just sit there until attacked and defeated, even if another lord with them has over 100. Very frustrating!

Hello, if the problem still persists, please upload your savegame so I can take a look.
Faction AI should be recalculated at least every 36 hours for all theaters, so they might redecide if you wait for a bit longer. If that doesn't help, you can use the Cheat menu to force a siege, or to defeat Gundabad as a faction.

@Dexter There is no such limitation to the marshall party, so please do not spread misinformation.

Appreciate the response, and knowing that's how it works I think it makes sense now. I continued with my campaign as normal, and about an in-game week after this post it looks like one final Erebor party arrived and I got a notification about the siege commencing. I'm still not entirely sure why the other factions never sieged the outpost but with Gundabad destroyed it didn't matter.

I finished the campaign a couple days ago with no other issues. Cool mod!

Any besieging faction locks the sieged faction from any other siege. It sounds like Erebor had Gundabad locked.

I knew that's why they didn't attack Gundabad, but whoever was locking the siege of the Outpost that was left (there were 2 different factions sitting outside it) also wasn't sieging, so I wasn't sure whether that was just coincidence or something went wrong.

Only trying to help. It was merely my experience over a large number of games that that seemed to be the case.

Straggling siege groups become more noticeable in the late game. Then they become really annoying.
