Translations
In order to start translating, head over to

\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3000924731\mods\Immersive Lore\media\lua\shared\Translate\EN

Translating
  1. Open UI_EN.txt from the directory above. Copy and paste one (or multiple stories) from the file into your favorite workplace (Any text editor), and start translating the text after the Equal (=) sign

  2. Once you're done translating, copy and paste what you translated into a new comment on this discussion. Make sure to specify what language you translated to.

Testing your translations
  1. If you prefer to test your translation and see them in action before posting here, you'll need to head the Translate folder from the directory mentioned above.

  2. Head to the folder that denotes your language's abbreviation (Abbreviations will be noted below in a table).

  3. Create a new file named UI_ABBREVIATION.txt, for example, UI_AR.txt

  4. Inside the file, copy and paste the contents from the original _EN file

  5. In the new file, on the first line, change the EN abbreviation your language's abbreviation

  6. At the part where you made your changes, copy and paste the changes you made, overwriting the old content. At this point, your translations should be able to work in-game.

WARNING Note that some languages may have encoding issues. Those are mainly languages which have none-latin characters. If you are translating to one of those languages, you'll need to use a text editor like Notepad++ and adjust it accordingly.

Hello, im ready for the French version how can i send you the files ?

Hi, here is the translation into Russian

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fc1erEyNMXW-tj0SryfYoeQa6b2u9cQF/view?usp=sharing

Maybe in the near future I'll make it into Japanese and Chinese, we'll see how it goes.

Wouldn't you like to translate the modification page as well? This will show that the mod has been translated into this language. I can help with that in these three languages

@ZunKo
You can just upload the file to drive, and thanks!

@Rapa_Johnson
Amazing work with the Russian translations. I really appreciate it. I'll implement it in the next update. Also, what do you mean the "modification page"?
Rapa_Johnson 9 Sep, 2024 @ 7:19pm
@Arendameth
I meant the description of the mod in the steam workshop

@Arendameth
oh, and if you already downloaded the translation file, please download the new version, I updated the link. I fixed a couple of inaccuracies.
Is the next update purely technical or will it add stories too? I could translate them up front
Arendameth  [developer] 10 Sep, 2024 @ 11:18pm
@Rapa_Johnson
I didn't know you could translate mod description in workshop o-o, is that a localization thing where everyone will see it in his own language or just stacking the description in different languages on top of each other?

Also, the next update will be both technical and add the latest stories submitted. Soo yea I think you can translate them up front. You can just add the entries to the translation file in the order they were submitted
Arendameth  [developer] 10 Sep, 2024 @ 11:20pm
As a side note-Don't forget to put \n where necessary. It acts as a line break.
Rapa_Johnson 10 Sep, 2024 @ 11:24pm
@Arendameth
in ur mod steam workshop page
OWNER CONTROLS -> Edit title & description -> Language -> set language for translation input -> done

Now you can localize the title, description and even insert pictures that are specially prepared for specific languages (I did it for example in my true music addon)

Yes, it would just look like the same text "en" but only in, say, "jp". It's basically the same as me localizing your mod, except you'd be doing it with the mod page

(you will have to work translating your own "en" text into another, or find someone with the native language you are translating into, at worst with languages that rarely translate I use "DeepL" (translator with built-in AI))

and yes, all "\n" are in the same place as in the English localization, don't worry

UPD: here[drive.google.com] is the file where "en -> ru" translation for your mod page

I shortened this text as much as I could so that steam would let me upload this description to my test mod page, so yes, the text is shortened, but the gist is the same

to see the page of your mod after a translation you just need to change the language, for this I just open steam in the browser, at the top right where your nickname is, you need to click there and in the dropdown list "change language" to the language of localization that you have done. Go to your mod page and you will see it as if a person with a steam client installed in their native language would see your mod page

the only problem may be that with every update or as needed - you will have to change the description in each language

Good morning!!
I noticed that the community has already worked on the translation into Brazilian Portuguese, can we help with anything else to upload this translation? I would like to be able to use and test it on our server. Thank you, I am available for any help u need . ;)

Hello! I Just got around to importing translations. Apparently none of these links work due either file not existing anymore, or restricted access
Hi, I have completed the translation of your mod for Spanish, it is the first time I do something like this, I was very interested in your work and I wanted to add a translation, it took me a little time but I completed it. Should I upload the mod as Add-On or just share you the .txt with the translation?(The syntax I kept it as your instructions say) Cheers.
