HOW TO START REFINING THE OIL
HOW TO START REFINING THE OIL
  1. Using the controls in front of the Refinery Operator's chair, switch on the refinery's pumps - the display with those red and yellow arrows should light up to let you know they're working.
  2. Press the button to switch on the Electric Furnaces - these will not only pre-heat the oil on the way to the distillation tower, but also heat up any oil already inside it.
  3. Increase the throttle to open the Oil to Refinery valve as much as you can, you can usually get away with opening it completely without any serious loss in temperature due to the recent changes in how the refinery works since v1.9.18.
  4. If there's already a lot of oil inside the distillation tower, or the oil rig base has spawned somewhere colder than normal then you can also press the button to switch on the Diesel Furnace, be advised that this will drain a small amount of diesel fuel from the nearby fuel tanks but don't worry though as you will most likely still be getting a lot more in compared to what's being burned in the furnace.
  5. Once the temperature inside the distillation tower exceeds 300'C - which will be shown by the yellow indicator - the oil will slowly be separated into diesel and jet fuel then be automatically sent to the respective container tanks via the pumps at the top of the distillation tower.
  6. Adjust the Oil to Refinery flow rate as required if you find that the temperature starts dropping below 300'C. Try not to reduce it any lower than 0.20 otherwise the refining process may slow down too much and may even stop altogether.
  7. Congratulations! You're now successfully refining oil into diesel and jet fuel, ready to be sold on or for use in your own vehicles.
