Gameplay changes OUTDATED
Changes to Recoil:

  • Recoil now scales with Strength. The more Strength you have, the less penalty.

  • There are breakpoints, depending on the caliber, which work as a "minimum" strength requirement:

    1. 45 str - 9mm
    2. 49 str - 5.45 mm
    3. 52 str - 5.56 mm
    4. 55 str - 7.62mm WP
    5. 60 str - 7.62 NATO

      7.62x54 and .50 use the same breakpoint as 7.62 Nato, but have increased penalty.

      Having less than the caliber respective breakpoint in STR will cause increased penalties.

  • All machinegun recoil has an extra component based on STR, which makes this attribute more important for overral machinegun accuracy.

  • The following components reduce recoil penalty: suppressor, vertical grip, bullpup mechanism, extended barrels and compensator.

  • The following components increase recoil penalty: no stock, short barrels.

  • Small weapons like SMGs and Pistols have increased recoil penalty, while MGs and Snipers have reduced.

  • The M14 has increased recoil as part of its design.

  • Crouching and being prone reduce recoil penalty.

  • Auto weapons and recoil control perks reduce recoil penalty.

  • Run and Gun now takes these calculations into account when determing its penalty.
  • Autofire shoots 10 bullets, and LongBurst (MG) shoots 6


Targeted Shot

  • In vanilla, snipers and pistols receive a 33% reduction in targeting body parts. So if you aim for the head, that has 40% penalty you get a 26% penalty.

  • I have changed this system in a way that applies to all weapons doing single shots.

  • Sniper and revolvers have maximum reduction of 35%, pistols have maximum reduction of 40%, Bolt Action snipers have maximum reduction of 50%, and all the other guns have maximum reduction of 20%.

  • These reductions depend on Perception, a composite of Wisdom and Marksmanship attributes. If you have more than 85 Perception, you will have an increased rate of penalty reduction. If you have more than 60, you will have a normal rate. And if you have less, there will be no reduction.

  • These changes were made thinking about sniping balance and were inspired by Audakis rework. I wanted to do something that makes snipers early game still viable for low Marks, high Dex chars (like MD). Now they wont HS everything, but might get a few bodyshots using the bonus from aiming. Values remain to be calibrated.

  • This will also make the Dragunov and Glock less OP.




Single Shot
  • Single shots now have increased critical hit chance.

  • This chance scales with the attacker Dexterity.

  • Fully aimed attacks increase the scaling.

Melee range shooting
Now shooting while directly adjacent will give a penalty.

Pistols and revolvers have this penalty halved. SMGS have this penalty reduced by 20%.

Long barrels increase it and short barrels decrease it. Snipers are considered to have a long barrel by default, except the W1894.

This applies independent of scopes. Do note that the Point Blank bonus still applies at this range. The melee shooting zone can be seen in the scopes screenshot.

Other changes

  • Attacks that miss by 20 or less become grazes
  • Graze damage increased from 33% to 45%

  • Critical hit damage increased to 60%

  • Aim bonus is now based on Marksmanship and Dexterity. The overral scaling has been reduced.

  • Dexterity more heavily influences Overwatch CTH, Low dex will cause more penalties and high dex will give more bonus than vanilla.
  • Overwatch has no extra attack. Total attacks = (AP/attack cost) + perks + weapon mods.

  • If you a target is prone and in close distance, the attacker receives a bonus CTH instead of a penalty.
  • Crouching and being prone increase aim bonus.

  • All forms of automatic fire do full bullet damage.

  • SMGs: have extra 10% damage against flanked targets
  • 9mm pistols: have -1 ap cost.
  • AR have Point-Blank range bonus.

  • Penalty from target being Aware in Stealth Kill calc increased from 25% to 50%
