Inspiration of a tadpole

Consider the aquatic tadpole’s shape.

Up front is the eyes and brain which becomes the operator in an expansive view window. There is also the mouth which in this case has the fluid intake, fluid projector for spitting out along with connectors, winch, built in mag all for biting onto other vessels.

The center of the tadpole is the main organs which becomes the mission resources of passenger seating, handheld equipment, a place to stand as you organize those and the belly tanks.

Onto the tadpole’s tail where its propulsion becomes our generator for long range movement, propeller, circuitry and stores.

Like a tadpole growing legs the vehicle has electrical powered wheels front and back. The center belly wheels keep us balanced in undulating terrain.

With the rising front and middle but low back gives a reserve buoyancy above the center of gravity. Should it be rolled over in water this makes a natural trend for this vehicle to self right.

That tail from the sloping back serves us well in the water as an easy way for swimmers to get to the top hatch. Thus the side hatches can be kept locked until back on land.

Some of the in vehicle notes:

Basics = Close hatches = Lock Hatches = Use seat = 1 or 3 for motors on/off = Steer A-D = On land parking brake to off

Speed depends on current battery level. At 1.00 battery land is 20 m/s water 8.5 m/s. Climbing affected as well.

Range: Battery only at max motors Land/Water 4.9/2.8 km. Generator adds: 15.5/8.9km. Totals 20.4/11.7 Belly Tanks add 60/34

= Internal math: before adjusting for scaled speed loss land 6.5 water 3.8. Scale from 100% to 50% speed average 75%. Assuming same power loss but average speed 75% max.
= Medium battery 12,800 p-s. 2 of them 24,800.
= Diesel generator 193 L. Belly tanks 750 L.
= Generator boosted fuel consumption from test. E
= Current generator 2:1 2:1 best power to fuel at 0.67, max 0.98 normal afr

Fluid turret: 1) Load belly tank (read seawater intake midships) 2) Go to fire 3)

Projector pump. Off load belly tanks. Combine with valve for fluid turret. Can hook up manual hose starboard side.

Micro fridge. (Holds three cans pop or equivalent)

Fluid turret valve. Fed by projector pump. Open to use fluid turret. Close for manual hose.

Boost Generator (Start is on aft of engine. Boosted for battery zero to full est. 13.1 min)

Teas, floating mug, sugars, stir spoon, drink powders.

Food routine (4 meals per SW block, noodles, jerky, oatmeal, teas, sugar, spices, chocolate bars, canned stew, protein bars)

Food long term (18 MRE at 6 per SW block)

Food long term (6 MRE and waterproof boxes of survival biscuits)

Survival stores. (Reflecting blankets, towels, sponges, bailing cup, handbook, water filter, assorted kits)

Engineer stores (Tools, parts, nuts, bolts, wires, bulbs, fuses)

Engineer stores (Large parts, lubricants)

Dishes (cooking pot with lid, frying pan, kitchen knives, cutlery, bowls, cups, utensils, sponges, dish soap, immersion heaters)

Operator locker (typically clothing in dry bags, hygiene kit, books)

Operator food stash (your choice, protein bars, chips, chocolates, canned stews)

Manual start: Option disconnect breakers. Hand crank to 1+ rps. Toggle start on. Restore breakers.

Seawater intake connection. (open to allow pumping in. Close at all other times. Is a double safety.)

Generator fuel connection (Only open for diesel. Open to allow generator to draw from belly. Close at all other times)

Watering = Empty belly tanks = Drive into water = Pump on = Intake safety valve open = When full close valve and off pump

Decoration notes:

A crew cabin snorkel vent is represented on the exterior roof using a black 1x1 drive belt. This would let the crew get air if at sea in bad weather. Being separate from the engine system if can used on its own. Long term enclosed with a generator will slowly accumulate fumes and this allows a way to purge them. It would have a two directional fan to accelerate pulling air in or pushing air out. If it was safe to open hatches they would make the process much faster but for a rescue vehicle it won’t always be safe to do so especially in rough seas.

Food and water supply:

Potable drinking water is kept in a tank of 77 liters in the starboard tail. At a typical 2 liters a day this is over 35 man days of water. With the operator and six seated rescues that is five days of water at full rations. Available quantity will depend on usage during patrols up to the time of rescue.

Food plan is that routine activity the operator can eat general foods when MRE for when long term rescues are found. Though MRE are self preparing there is both a kettle (port of pilot seat) and a heater and pot (starboard of pilot seat) to prepare foods.
Once rescues are picked up high calorie foods like choclate bars can be given to boost immediate sugar levels. If they can’t be quickly transported MRE are issued so that their immune system gets a boost in healing whatever happened in their incident. An estimate suggests one Stormworks block can store six MRE.
Transport to hospital and resupply hopefully within hours or the same day. For extended survival, such as vehicle breakdowns or prolonged weather, additional ration biscuits are stored. Modern lifeboats carry such an item. Rationing based on time gives another one to a few days.

Summary of the supply schedule is:
= Water for 35 man days for 5 days of 7 people
== Boiling by kettle or pot

= Food for 22+ man days for 3 days of 7 people
== ~6 man days of routine foods
== 8 man days as 24 MRE
== 8+ man days dense ration biscuits

Routine food list varies by operator perhaps having noodles, jerky, teas, oatmeal, trail mix, sugar, spices, crackers, chocolate bars, canned foods, protein bars.

Tip: Notice the picture of the Tadpole on the yellow beach going toward the dark cliff with green on top. That is the part on the west side of Hospital Island where you can climb up to drive to the hospital door.
