Hey,

Well, once again feel free to leave any bugs you may encounter, such as:

  • Voices that don't seem appropriate for a particular action.
  • Voices that sound messed up
  • Or any other weird occurances

Designing Mike
Jagged Alliance has been one of those games that has always been with me since I was a kid. In fact, JA1 was one of the first games I played. I also spent years playing JA2.

And I always enjoyed Mike. In fact, what pissed me off about JA2 is that you couldn't play him. Well, later, you could with 1.13, but I never got to recruit him.

So, with JA3 around, I decided to design my first mod ever. Honestly, Mike took some serious work. Yet, I had fantastic fun building him, thinking about his persona and overall design.

I also learned to use some fantastic new AI tools from Midjourney to design his avatar (a pain in the butt to get correct) and Eleven Labs for his custom voice.
  • In fact, Mike's voice was cloned from the original JA. Plus, his face was taken from JA1, that's why he has similar facial features.
  • I also tried to make him as close as possible to his combat style. I found some ancient files from JA 2 online with some info about his perks.

For this reason, he's supposed to be a medium to long-range monster. Mike can switch between sniper to assault rifles, machine guns, or RPG-7 in the blink of an eye. Giving him a lot of flexibility within those combat ranges.

Just wanted to share some background info about him for those interested.

I'm still planning on updating him with new content. Actually, I've been checking if you can design a custom face for him. Not still sure if that's possible, I'll see.

Hi Lion, there’s a lot of grammatical and spelling errors in the voice response tree. These end up showing up in game whenever Mike speaks as subtitles.

Yeah, sadly Mike is dyslexic... Don't judge him!

It looks like you fixed a lot of them, but some examples:

>A little scratch... Perfect.... Now they'll see what I'm really made of Hooah!

Should be:

A little scratch... Perfect... Now they'll see what I'm really made of! Hooah!

>Copy that. we move now!

Should be:

Copy that. We move now!

>Is that all you've gott???

Should be:

Is that all you've got???

Etc. A few are also missing punctuation. But like I said, it appears you already cleaned it up a lot.

11labs (if that's what you're using) also generates voices way too loud so Mike is much louder than any other audio in the game. For my mods, I use a Compressor filter with a -20db threshold in Audacity, but up to you.

Oh yeah, I see the issue hehe... When I was making the audio, I had to remove certain punctuation and sometimes include more characters to get certain sound effects. Then I added them to the voice tree and forgot about it :D

I'll correct all those problems. Yes, about Audacity. I'm not sure if it can correct the sound from those files in bulk. I need to check. Thanks for pointing it out and for the tips. I'll see what I can do.

So, I don't get it. You have added 160 custom voices. Do you mean you have added 160 lines, all in Mike's voice?
So, one voice with 160 sentences that kan possibly be spoken?

Yes, I wrote over 160 unique lines, and used AI to voice each one of them. Not sure if that replies to your question.

awsome what the technic can do today. no professional speaker needed anymore (which was always a big financial burden)

Yes, it's getting scary good. In fact, Elevenlab (AI voice software I used) cloned Mike's voice from JA. I got an old recording from YouTube. And then used his cloned voice to make the audios for this mod.
