A smaller update after a long break. For the like few people reading this the TLDR for lack of any changes was that I attempted a larger rework of transports trying to represent the struggle many nations had in motorizing their armies. This would have involved most nations have to spend 1-2 core slots for trucks and half tracks. The problem was that this inflated army sizes well past where they were balanced for in vanilla and required a massive rebalance of pretty much all vehicles. Pretty much this ballooned into me trying to rework the entire roster again and then rebalance every scenario ever made around these larger core slots.
For what I was trying to do it was way to much and I burned out and walked away for a while. This update doesn't have anything related to transport changes really and just focused on adjusting strategic bombers, getting any new units in line, and adding some small things here and there.
- Reworked strategic bombers. Generally they have gone down in core slots and have higher attack stats. Also played with some concepts of "light" and "heavy" bombers by giving some bombers even higher attack stats and entrenchment killer 4. I advise being careful about the Western Allies as their bomber fleets are much nastier now.
-Adjusted new units added since AO 1946 to fit mod balance
- Added 8cm PAW 600 a late war German AT gun that can serve as both an AT gun and Artillery piece.
- Soviets now have M3 Halftracks for their infantry transports. Arrives in 1943
Added 37mm Flak 43 for Germany and 85mm M1944 for Soviets. These are simply enhanced versions of the current versions in game available later into the war. Features just modest stats boosts.
- Added German Bradenburger Infantry. A commando style unit to further enlarge the german infantry roster with something unique.
- Added 42mm Pak41 Gerlich an airdroppable AT gun that sits at about the power of Pak 38.
- Added Ae234B PR a recon variant of the Arado blitz bomber as a late war German recon plane.
- Various small adjustments and fixes to units throughout the various nation
An update to incorporate War Stories Poland and most of the new units into the balance. Most changes were small like slight stat adjustments. I did get around to adding several new units in relation to command units and mounted troops which are described below. Here are the more notable changes:
- Polish ATR infantry given +1 movement, +1 ammo, and cost reduced.
- Adjusted numerous German tanks like Panzer IVA to be more of a threat.
- Reworked Command units such as Wachtrupp, PL HQ, and Panzerbefhlswagen. Added Leadership, reduced cost and core slots, and adjusted stats so these units have a purpose. They now are a way to boost your other troops but are not amazing in combat themselves.
- Added numerous command vehicles across the major nations of Germany, US, Britain, and Soviets. Most can be found in the tank tab.
- Added new mounted infantry troops. These are elite style infantry with strong stats and the ability to switch to an armored version. Panzergrenadiers, Soviet Tank Riders, and others will vary but are in this new category.
- Soviets now have ATR Infantry as well.
- All 75mm towed artillery +1 soft attack.
- British CS tanks improved across the board.
- American 75mm Pack Howitzer can now paradrop.
- Added 7.5cm Gebg 36 Mountain Gun. Same stats as regular 7.5cm with alpine trait/movement but +1 core slot.
- Updated all recon units to have all evasive.
- Added suppressive fire to all 20mm and 40mm AA guns when set to ground fire mode. Done to make them not outclass artillery in support fire.
- Added the 8 cm Raketen-Vielfachwerfer as a cheap rocket artillery option for Germany in 1943. essentially a Katyusha copy IRL it should offer a mobile and low core slot option that lacks in firepower compared to more expensive options.
- Added the Bf109 G-14 as the inbetween of the G and K. Appears in June 1944.
- Bf 109K appears correctly in Oct 1944 and has been buffed up. +1 core slot but much closer to the FW190 in performance
- Other small adjustments to German aircraft to accommodate new units and changes mentioned above.
- Added Aiming Assistance to all command vehicles to make them more worth it.
- Slightly adjusted early command units to be more combat capable for their cost.
Rebalanced new units from Cyrenaica
-Cruiser Tanks changed to fit in new models and reflect real life versions better
- Mortar Infantry rebalanced. Now costs more core slots but has better combat stats (to fit within current infantry balance).
- Mortar Infantry added to all nations with 81mm mortars (wish I could change model skins but can't so everyone just has the Italian skins).
- Added 1943 variants representing 120mm mortars
- Added Toldi III recon tank. Rebalanced Toldi IIa to compensate
- Added T80 light tank to soviet recon. Slightly better then T70
- Added Yak 9K. 45mm fighter with incredible air attack but low intiative.
- Various tiny stat changes to other units
