Sorry for the belated response. I've misses your thread since steam won't automatically let me know. If you started with my space marine factions, obviously they will come with maximum level Gene-Seed.

If you started with other space marine factions, still you can install the one type of Gene-Seed to your pawn, unless you enabled Phomicmas' Genes mod - in this case, all Gene-Seed will be removed but you still can get one Hediff called "Black Carapace" which gives you small amount of bonus outside of the genes.


Now, to install the gene, you need to get the basement. This normally comes as a bestowing rewards if you enabled my Royalty libraries. There are several kind of Gene-Seed basement, but you can only choose one.

Then, you need to complete research of Gene-Seed - if you want to use Royalist variant, need to done it on Astartes (MIM) tab. If you want to use Heretic variant, need to done on Chaos (MIM).

This will allow you to install the basement to Male (not allowed to female or none gender) as well as produce gene-seed fragement on drug lab.

Then, if you want to use chapter oriented gene-seed, you need to additionally complete a research of each chapter - like if you want to use Black Templars, complete research on Astartes (MIM).

All above conditions are met, you can upgrade your gene-seed from 1 to 17 (glitched gene-seeds from some chapters) or 19 (genuine gene-seed).

You can see some information on Learning Assistant in game, if you didn't disable it.

Nope, you can still get the gene-seed basement from random quest rewards - yet, the chance is obviously low, so I added kind of bypass by using Royalty functions.

If you wish, I'll check how to implement them by Mod Setting function - which is I'm not very familiar with, so may takes time.

I skipped some steps and gave me one with the character Editor, but i dont see how to install them in the Operations Tab in Health nor with using them directly.
And good to know i can get them in another Way.

Character Editor is another option if you want role playing - just give them NPC variant, which has only 1 level and immediately give all the bonus at once.

If i get my hand on a "legit one" how do i implant them though? i cant find that in operations, where i think it should be. Or do i use them with right click, as like forced Meal/Equipment?

I think I wrote it down above - you should have to finish necessary research and must be implant to a male pawn.

Done and done. I will restart with one of the Space Marine starts and retry.
And the implantation should be under Operations right?
And the research you mean is the one in the Top "Line" --> Black Templar, Fallen Angel, World Eater etc..

Yes, indeed. If you have Gene Seed Basement (Black Templars), you have to finished Black Templar research.

Btw, of which space marine faction do you mean? Of Grimworld or of mine? If you meant to use one of my mod, since they already have one gene-seed, you can't install any additional one. Instead, you can give it to new pawn who doesn't have any gene-seed.

Ah-ha... sometimes that happens in RImworld, even to me XD

After that i realized of 15 Pawns only 4 were male, funny at least 8 had the Body Type Hulk, only one of them Male :P

That always gives me a headache when I am dealing with Sororitas - I only give their armor in Female Body but actually female pawns more often come up with Hulk or thin body......
