what happens to your transport choppers if they crash? Do they eventually respawn?

I've been wondering this myself, some of these places are just obnoxious to get to and spending hrs walking or dealing with crappy AI drivers is a bit much.

It's best to use the choppers just to shuttle you between main base and forward operating bases. Then, take the vehicles to/near your objectives
