I don't think it is different enough. You have done a fantastic job with it but it is way too similar to the film jetpack.

We already have the Rocket Jumpin Solly, Sticky Jumpin Demo, The Force a nature Scout, and the Sentry Jumpin Engie. Rocketeer is way to far from the TF2niverse

My point isn't that this theme doesn't fit with tf2 (because it totally does,) my point is that the person submitting this to the workshop (probably) doesn't own the rights to the movie and as such there could be a lawsuit against valve if it were to be implemented. A for effort.

It looks very similar indeed, but I don't think the creator copied it. Whether or not he infringed copyright, he should redesign it to avoid any dire conseqeunces. Thank you for posting this before it ever got considered to be implemented. Even though it kind of already is...

I didn't mean a literal repeat, what I meant was both of those items were copyright infringements and had to be manually remade by valve. the contributors were banned from ever submitting anything to the workshop again and that's a shame.

Oh, yep. Totally, a shame for the contributor and Valve. Nobody wants that.

TL;DR Design seems stolen, not sure if unique enough.

They shouldn't worry about that a im sure the people who designed the movie arn't going to sew a mod maker as there are mods about star wars and movies like that which are made everyday. I dont know the details but Im fairly sure that, as long as it has no direct link to the jet pack and is named differntly then it should slip through the net just fine.

I don't think it's a mod, I think it could be implemented as an ingame item, and if implemented, it will generate revenue.

looking at the two, here are the simularities. 2 tube rockets, with grey tips, and curve cut bottoms, connected with a curved bit vented on top.
however this version is asymetric, has junk tacked to it as if it were gerryrigged, the rockets are segmented in the middle, and there is no collar on top of the rockets. nor is there the round bit in the center, bottom vents, or cuircuitry.

i think its fine.

I was under the impression there was some kind of special deal or request there, Mail, but you're right. I never really thought about it.

I just want to chime to say that although I did have some inspiration from the Rocketeer Film/design, I made every attempt to make it unique. But I do understand where you guys are coming from and I hope you can see it from my perspective as well. :-) Cheers guys.
