Most Efficient Battery Generator
I have a gas-powered alternator setup in my world, and I'm wondering about a few things. The first is if I increase the speed of the generator connected to the alternator, will it increase the speed at which batteries are generated? Also if using a higher mass object to spin will increase battery generation.

You can build a legit looking cheese powered generator. Interested?

A cheese powered generator you say? I'm DEFINITELY interested!

I'm sorry, a WHAT powered generator?

the fast it spins the fast make energy

if you using a gas engine use all the available bearing with a piston to pass through supports so that you using the full power

What i did was i got a stack of controller rotated bearings to power the generator. Controller does not require any kind of energy which is a cheesy solution... Cheese powered. if you want to build that - make sure to weld it to the ground before turning it on. bearing stacks and controllers can detonate a creation and potentially ruin the game.

I did the same. Used to do a controller/bearing stack on my mining/logging vehicles' wheels (and, of course, on the drills/saws) in vanilla survival to save on gas/electricity so it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the alternator. As far as I can tell, sweet spot is a 7 bearing stack with 6 going to the controller and the 7th going to a heavy alternator. Any more than that doesn't increase the speed of battery generation. Note: I think both sides may need to be welded, but maybe not. That's just how I got it working first and since it wasn't broke, I didn't try to fix it.

I built the below setup this weekend. The tricky part is building the tower of bearings as it has to be one solid peace then weld to the floor. The design is doubled so really you could build just one tower of bearings. Each alternator was producing 3% power every second. I no longer worry about batteries for my power tools. There are 12 bearings per tower and the bottom one is held in place with a controller so it doesn't spin, then a controller for 10 more and the top one the alternator is connected two should be spinning in the opposite direction of the bearing below it. To start it up the controllers spinning the bearings should be on slow and ramp them up slowly but not all the way or as bigTill mentioned, things can get wonky. So you could make the tower shorter with less bearings to be on the safe side but wheres the fun in that. lol Also on that note I would not leave your base and go out of render distance with this all attached and spinning as I had a situation where things where flying everywhere when I got back but all I had to do to fix was pick up the controllers and detached the tower from my base and reattach it.

look for "Much battery. Such wow" on YT. The idea behind that generator is a {bearing}-pipe-{bearing}-pipe-{bearing} arrangement with outside bearings being spun by a T5 gas motor and inside bearing being connected to large alternator. One 10-stack of gas makes 81 battery. So far this is the most efficient generator I have seen, aside from controller bearing stacks that give free batteries.
