Oil Pump Broken?
Mod updated earlier today. Since then my Oil Vacuum Pump has completely stopped working.

Things attempted;
- Removed XOR gate
- Reseated Chest
- Used new and old vacuum pipe pieces instead of direct connection
- Rebuilt simple setup with pump, chest, switch only
- Moved all items to water source
- Built all new items and separately
- Verified Game Files

I also have no other mods. Pump still shows direction, can only be toggled once before being locked into sucking in only, and lights up as expected when connection with chest made, but still no joy.

On a side note I need to completely move my battery generation setup now that it requires water but that is something else entirely...

Any ideas whether how pumps work have been completely changed or liquid detection is bugged?

UPDATE: Pump works as expected only if placed underground on the water or oil tile itself. When placed normally, above ground as expected, in water or oil it does not function...

i have same problem and glowgoop and crop harvest also dont work.

Same issue... Vacuum crops doesn't work.. for water, need deep body of water, and no obstruction I think...

this one doesn't work : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3167462716

Interesting to hear about the depth -- but that is consistent if you take into account that my pump was only working when I placed on the water tile beneath the world map.

Might build a liquid sensor and see if it only detects now at certain depths...

And I also have a problem with the chemical pool at HQ, but I might rebuild at the bottom of the pool and see if the problem is resolved.

Never even considered putting the alternators underwater. Good solution for the noise now they need water access anyway.

Same with my water pump - I added the alternator to it for water supply and it stopped pumping - now no matter what I do, no pumping. Will try moving it to deeper water.

It worked briefly, adding more vacuum pipe gets it going again, briefly.

Try installing below the world map on the water tile. If you don't know how, on your lift build a small platform, and attach a seat. At the back of the platform place a full height stack of blocks, with a small horizontal beam coming off the top rear. Now set that aside.

Place your currently empty lift in the world where you intend to go under the map -- you can be a short distance from the beach as the water tile extends underground for a short distance. Place a horizontal line of blocks -- 7 or so should suffice.

Now go to your original build with the seat, pull out your weld tool, and select the very end face of that short beam. Attach that to the end of the 7 or so blocks that are still on your lift.

Raise your lift and the platform and seat should come out of the ground. Jump into the seat, and then lower your lift with you on the seat. You will phase directly through the ground. As long as you a low enough you can jump out of your seat without popping back up through the ground, and land on the platform.

From there, build under the world to your hearts desire as long as any construction is attached to the ground above you. You can then install a pump, vacuum pumps, or chest/tank, to your hearts desire. You can even attached these below ground objects to structures above (ie a switch and water cannon above ground for your pump & tank installed below). Simply jump back into the seat and phase yourself back up when you're ready to leave.

Ok, but what about pumps that are supposed to work above the water, like my harvesting pump on my crops or the pump in my vehicle to pick up dropped objects?

P.S.: It still works for planting seeds, will try again in a few minutes to see if it picks up the grown stuff...

Unfortunately I ragdolled and phased into a rock in the mines and can't escape, kill commands won't work, and I haven't been bothered to leave the game idle long enough to starve to death, and potentially have unrecoverable items.

So for now I can't test this issue further.

Whoever designed the HQ Vents, the Orange Valve Quests, and the Mines, needs to be taken out back and shot.

Try /tumble
or /die

/tumble didn't help, but I did manage to /die and thankfully my items that dropped had phased out of the rock. Thanks.

If not, see if the harvester pump works just underneath the crop, inside the ground, pointing up. It'll be interesting to see if it works -- hopefully it'll give the mod devs something to consider and maybe fix after it was broken in the last update.

Here's what I found.

There's an area of 5 x 5 x 4 (blocks) in front of the pump that if obstructed, will break the pump.

Here the pump working :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168647087

Add 1 block and it broke :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168647122

Free floating blocks also breaks it :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168647156

And terrain also breaks it :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168647037

Collecting crops could work with certain positioning :
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168647064

After the pump broke, pick up and replace / reconnect the pump will fix it temporarily, as long that area is clear.

Ah, will check that out. Would explain why I have no issues with pumps under the map because the attaching pillar heads directly up from the pump to the world floor.

Nice work.
