AI Control Switches Guide
This map features a variant of my AI controllers system, which has been seen before in some of my other projects. The functionality is nearly identical. The good news is I have made a new upgrade/breakthrough to this system which comes with this map. Now when you shut off a switch, the AI immediately despawns before your eyes, and no longer arrives a second time after being disabled. Pretty neat! I’m glad to have finally fixed that annoying bug! With version 1.0 of this map, only the Covenant squads are controllable via switches on map. I will assess at a later date if it makes sense to add in additional controllers for each Flood group.

Okay. So, how do the buttons work?

The switches on the map have two positions with status lights.
  • A steady and periodically flashing GREEN light indicates the squad is disabled, and ready for you to enable them.
  • A YELLOW steady light indicates the squad is currently enabled and in use.
This map features THREE switches at the time of release. One in each Covenant base, and an additional switch on a support pillar near the tunnel exit to midfield. They all control various Covenant squads.

  • The central button in the cave exit controls the Phantom dropped reinforcements.
  • The switch inside the flashing Covenant base calls in a Banshee to assist.
  • The switch inside the Covenant base with blue antennae calls in a Ghost to assist.
The cave switch will enable the deployment of the Phantom reinforcements. When enabled, these guys will get automatically replenished once lost until you shut this switch off. Even if some forces are still left, you can press this button to despawn and disable them whenever you like. Afterwards, press it again to re-enable their deployment.

Both the Covenant base switches are quick response type controllers, meaning corresponding units are spawned in as soon as the switch is pressed. These buttons will automatically reset to GREEN once the unit they control has been lost. You are now free to use them again.
