It would be incredibly useful if there were an option to grant the Inventory/Portable Workbench upgrades on spawn. I think there should also be an option to prevent dropping them when this is on.

A client-side option to automatically show the Crafting Menu when opening the Inventory.

can you update mod and make it compatible to arc9's one time use gadgets? like the grenades and mines. Somehow whenever you use up all the gadgets, it somehow makes an invisible filled slot in your inventory which can only be removed by death and nothing else. Please make em compatible.

Also an inventory saving system? a menu so you can save your inventory. Transitioning to another map makes you lose all of your items.
Would a whitelisting function be possible with this mod? I wonder if it would help with modded items that don't have built in compatibility

Add settings to add custom ammo, I'm sick of getting addons and can't use them because of custom ammo.

Agreed, custom ammo is very common among weapon mods, and it's a shame this inventory mod can't handle it at all

(In the mean time i would recommend the supply storage mod for people who want an inventory system that does handle custom ammo types)

I fixed this on my end before but the error you get if you use an item that strips itself from inventory after use and breaks the inventory gui can be fixed with a nullcheck. For example the melee weapons in darsu's rust tfa pack remove from inventory when you throw them and it breaks the gui, but the error you get when that happens references a specific place where a nullcheck makes the gui and inventory system not break. I've forgotten where it was since it was a while ago but the error tells you. A lot of weapon mods will definitely suddenly work that way.
custom ammo limits? 60 max pistol ammo is a bit painful for when SMGs run on it

I think recipes should have a definition for which Crafting Stations they can be crafted at, as there will be additional stations created by mods. (Workbench, Furnace, Reloading Press, Mortar & Pestle, etc.)

A few Equipment slots that Armor/Clothing (Footwear, Legwear, Headgear) goes in. This will reward item variety and resource management, requiring you to think about what you're wearing before entering a conflict. (Mobility over Protection or vice versa, for instance.)

can you add a custom key to loot consumables like food directly into inventory? If its a food item (for example): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2777614852 it will just consume which is fine but the option would be nice.

I think It's difficult due to how vgui designed now, but I hope there is actual expand/shrink inventory size.

An ability to add exceptions for what weapon will take up place or not would be nice, like a GUI or a console command. This would be really useful for thing like fists SWEPs from other add-ons
