It wouldn't turn it into a counter strike reference, it would just make it German...
Inhimilis 14 SEP 2014 a las 3:23
If you want to change it from police to OMOH that could work.

Uhmm, it isnt everything that looks like a bulletproof vest with the word police on it thats a Counter-Strike reference. Thats like saying "Oh look! They have a M4A1 in the game, Battlefield 3 reference! EA is gonna be noticing this!". Now dont take this as a rude thing, im just giving you a friendly advice c: or a piece of knowledge, whatever you want to call it. C:

Or maybe, a plain vest, without text.

polizei has been on the outfits for the counter terrorists ever since counter strike the original, simple name change or description change (EVEN though valve wont keep these, it atleast would grab their attention a tad bit more possibly, they splooge over fan items of previous games) and possibly a secondary theme or whatever its called for this item, that simply changes the word on the label of the vest, would catch a tad bit more attention

A reference is when you are referring to a thing on purpose. If you have a minigun that look exactly like Heavy's, without knowing Heavy has one exactly like that, it wouldn't be a reference, it would be a coincidence. But yea, it would probably grab their attention C:

if he changes the name and description to something counter strike related and change the word to german, it would be a referance

The thought of writing Police in Russian crossed my mind. But I decided to keep it in English to keep in line with the rest of the TF2 standard. Dalokohs Bar, Fishcake, Pugilists Protector and any other stuff that has text on it are in English regardless of if they are from another country.

Heavy is Russian, not German, so Polizei doesnt make any sense. This is TF2, not going to make a CS item just because.

You did NOT say that. You just said that if he changed the word into "Polizei" instead of "Police" it would be a Counter-Strike reference. Now i have better things to attend to. If you think im chickening out, then go ahead, believe that, but im not, i simply wont sit here every day and type a message to a random dude

lets highlight that better

'polizei has been on the outfits for the counter terrorists ever since counter strike the original, simple name change or description change'

even closer

'SIMPLE NAME CHANGE OR DESCRIPTION CHANGE'
