I did exit my single player game and went in and out of creative a couple of times for testing and "science". Thanks for the tips. I'll pay more attention. It seems to be inconsistent.
Thanks for the tip, that's good to know. Luckily. I never have used that command. I'm pretty much limited to the "di" command and then "destroy" to remove poi's and asteroids I've finished with. Sometimes I'll use "sbp" to compare a ship to original blueprint if I'm having problems I can't figure out. Other than that, I don't like to use any cheats unless the game is totally glitching (like getting stuck in a block or a seat).
