Mount & Blade: Warband

Perisno
Giants performance
How do giants perform in batlle in the latest version? Did they change anything since they got introduced in that regard? I remember people liking them but still avoiding using them because they didnt perform well in battle. Weakness to archers is obvious and okay but even in melee they got outperformed. I couldnt find anything in the latest release notes except for adding female giants. Does anyone have more insight?

They're mainly terrible because they dont have enough vassals and towns. They aren't very good in open battlefields but they are exceptional in sieges especially at their capital cities. I haven't really played with them but I have played against them and they're really tanky even when you have archers pelting them from afar. They can take around 3 hits with their best units from archers before going down. They are very terrible overall but they are also the easiest faction to micro because you will mainly only have 2 divisions, one with your archers and one with your melee units. That being said they do need an overhaul and the Bahkal Giants need a better noble troop other than the damn Slavehearder.

I agree with Sack, another problem is that Giants are an infantry specialist faction but there are already so many factions with great infantry. Valahir, Maccavia, Kaikoth, Geldar, Perisno, and Venetor all have great infantry which can easily compete with Giants but many of those factions also have other good troops, while the giants only have infantry. It's easy to find good infantry in Perisno, harder to find good archers and cav.
