I’m running into an issue with using the hangers on player built walls. I can mount the guitar to the hanger, but if I go to place it, it’s invisible and clicking doesn’t place the hanger. Am I missing a step, or does it only work on pre-existing walls? Love the mod otherwise, it’s so cool to see instruments displayed in homes while looting!

Oh no! I have tested it on player built walls, the thumbnail screenshots are using them. What kind of wall is it? Also, is the same for different guitars, or just 1? Anything info you can think of will help to narrow down what the issue is.

I think I've narrowed down my issue a little, I realised that I /can/ place guitars on player-built walls, but only if they spawned on a hanger. If I make my own hanger, mount a guitar and then try to place it, that's when it fails to work. The name of the one that works is "Blue Splashed Acoustic Guitar - Mounted", the ones that I made that don't work all end in "Mountable" instead.
I'm currently trying it on a lvl3 wooden wall that's been plastered and painted using the "Wallpapers and more paint colors for all walls" mod. I've tried the following instruments: Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Black Electric Bass, Blue Electric Guitar and the Keytar.

Aaahhhh.... that's really helpful and tells me it's likely something to do with the latest update. I did a slight naming change, which may be causing this issue. All the guitars you listed that don't work are all part of the vanilla set, so I'll have a deep dive there and get it fixed asap!

Are you able to confirm if all the guitars you said didn't work if they can be placed on regular "non player-built" walls? Or even on a player-built wall that hasn't been painted yet using that mod?
I tested building the hanger and attaching those guitars/instruments to it and placing it on a regular wall, and that worked. So It might be a deeper issue than I hoped, or it's related to that mod. I've installed that mod and will continue testing to figure out what's going wrong and keep you updated.

I've renamed everything to be more consistent with "- Mounted" and tested those guitars with that mod, and it seems to be placing them onto the walls and displaying correctly. Asides from that, I'm struggling to reproduce that issue.
I'll upload my changes and if you could let me know if it's either all good or still happening for you, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I haven't been able to test it on non-player built walls yet, sorry about the delay! But I've confirmed that I still can't place them on standard wooden player-built walls, or walls painted using the mod I mentioned previously. Will try and test the regular walls and get back to you soon.

Is it just happening with the vanilla instruments, or have you tried with the custom guitars as well? Does it work with a guitar you have made/painted?

I've tested it with a spawned painted guitar (yellow stripes bass guitar) and it worked! A spawned black electric bass that I painted colourburst also let me hang it. So I guess it's something to do with the vanilla instruments, I hadn't thought of that at all! Happy to give you logs, maybe add each other as steam friends so we can exchange details? And no worries at all about any issues, I'm playing on a pretty modded server so it's just part of the deal. Thanks again for a cool mod, and for looking into the bug.
