Garry's Mod

Garry's Mod

Volumetric Lighting / Fog
I think that there should be a naturally occurring version.
There was a addon recently that took code from this (which is wrong, I completely admit.) that basically made this addon function to where it didn't need to be enabled manually through a spawn entity. This is nice when you want to play atmospheric maps and naturally increase the lighting without wanting to break your immersion by spawning in an entity and configuring it for the next however long. While I obviously don't condone the theft of code, the addon in question gained so much traction it became among one of the most popular items in the workshop. This makes it clear to me this is something that fans of this particular addon have probably wanted for quite some time.

Addon the fact this mod doesn't even function half the time for me (and others, it would seem.)
Despite doing everything correctly.

"doesn't even function half the time" isn't enough context for me to properly debug your problem, sorry. Best I can do is tell you to check for addon conflicts and to try disabling "enhancements" like reshade if they are enabled

regardless, if you want a naturally occurring version, see this addon: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3280216633
Understandable. Hopefully my post didn't come off too lack of detail-y. But I guess to break down what the main issue was with the way your addon was, for some reason, the lighting would turn extremely bright unless I basically made it almost black, which by point, it wasn't even noticeable hardly. Also, I stopped using ReShade with GMOD a while ago cause that never liked playing nice with it anyway.
